  • Patent number: 12218315
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of making core-shell and yolk-shell nanoparticles, and to electrodes comprising the same. The core-shell and yolk-shell nanoparticles and electrodes comprising them are suitable for use in electrochemical cells, such as fluoride shuttle batteries. The shell may protect the metal core from oxidation, including in an electrochemical cell. In some embodiments, an electrochemically active structure includes a dimensionally changeable active material forming a particle that expands or contracts upon reaction with or release of fluoride ions. One or more particles are at least partially surrounded with a fluoride-conducting encapsulant and optionally one or more voids are formed between the active material and the encapsulant using sacrificial layers or selective etching. • Publication number: 20190061263
Abstract: A method for fabricating a component includes receiving a first component design, calculating a plastic strain for a load case, and determining whether the plastic strain meets a target plastic strain for the load case. Responsive to determining that the plastic strain does not meet the target plastic strain for the load case the method includes calculating an elastic strain for the load case, defining a linear strain target as a function of the plastic strain, the target plastic strain, and the elastic strain, optimizing for the minimum mass of the component where a linear strain is less than the linear strain target, and outputting a second component design.

  • Publication number: 20150103698
Abstract: A method for producing a design topology is provided. The method includes entering a problem constraint into a computer, wherein the problem constraint includes a domain, a load vector, an objective function, and a plurality of types of materials. The domain is divided into a plurality of elements, wherein individual elements are associated with one type of material such that each of the plurality of types of materials is associated with more than one element. A element variable is calculated for the element, and the computer determines if the calculations are complete. If the calculations are not complete, the step of calculating the element variable for the elements is repeated. If the calculations are complete, the design topology is output.

  • Patent number: 8046381
Abstract: A communication network is described that allows legacy devices to access an IMS network. The communication network includes a switching system, an IMS network, and a non-IMS network. The switching system includes a subscriber database that is pre-provisioned with identities of IMS subscribers using legacy devices. When in operation, a calling party places a call through a legacy device. The switching system receives the call and accesses the subscriber database based on a calling party identifier (e.g., a phone number, URL, etc) to determine if the calling party is an IMS subscriber. If the calling party is an IMS subscriber, then the switching system routes the call to the IMS network. If the calling party is not an IMS subscriber, then the switching system routes the call to the non-IMS network.

  • Patent number: 7605724
Abstract: A digital up-sampling converter (DUSC) employs a signal input provided by a digital signal process (DSP) at a first rate feeding a Square Root Raised Cosine (SRRC) filter which provides for table look up of filter coefficients for a multiple symbol span and provides a sampling output at a second rate which is a multiple M of the first rate. A digital to analog converter (DAC) receives the sampling output at the second rate for conversion to an analog signal and a low pass analog filter processes the analog signal for delivery to an RF transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7496167
Abstract: A delay buffer includes a first shift register receiving input data and having a shift signal input port. The first shift register right shifts the input data responsive to a shift signal on the shift signal input port. The shift signal is determined based on an effective bit width of the input data. A first delay line receives the shifted data from the first shift register while a second delay line of equal length to the first delay line receives the shift signal. A second shift register receives the output from the first delay line and receives the output of the second delay line on a shift signal input port. The second shift register then left shifts the data contained therein according to the shift signal.

  • Publication number: 20080132161
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for providing multimedia services. The method includes receiving, at an application server, a request for at least one multimedia service from a first end-user device and determining whether said at least one multimedia service is provided by a second end user device. The method also includes providing a request for the at least one multimedia service to the second end user device in response to determining that the at least one multimedia service is provided by the second end-user device.

  • Publication number: 20080010688
Abstract: IMS networks and methods are disclosed for securing media streams for IMS sessions. A CSCF of an IMS network receives a registration message, such as a SIP Register message, from user equipment (UE) of an IMS subscriber indicating whether the UE supports media security. The CSCF then forwards a registration message, such as a Diameter MAR, to a subscriber database that includes a header parameter also indicating that the UE supports media security. A media security system generates media security information (e.g., algorithms, keys, etc), and the subscriber database transmits a response message, such as a Diameter MAA, to the CSCF that includes a header parameter for the media security information. The CSCF transmits a response message, such as a SIP 200 OK message, to the UE that includes a header parameter for the media security information. The UE may use the media security information to secure media streams.
