  • Patent number: 7458120
Abstract: An inflatable item includes a hollow body and a valve is connected to the hollow body. The valve is a bladder which has an inlet from which air is introduced in the bladder, and an outlet through which the air is introduced into the hollow body. A tubular insertion is engaged with the inlet and has a passage defined therethrough. A bouncing member is mounted to the tubular insertion so that the user compresses the bladder to push the air in the bladder into the hollow body and the bouncing member bounces the bladder back to original status. The hollow body can be inflated by repeatedly compressing the bladder. A cap removably seals the inlet after the inflatable item is inflated.

  • Publication number: 20080256747
Abstract: A hinge device of a foldable chair. The foldable chair includes a front tube, a middle tube, a rear tube and a foot stand. Three-way hinges each including a first pivoting portion, a second pivoting portion and a third pivoting portion connect the front tube, the middle tube, the rear tube and the foot stands together. The characteristic lies in that the third pivoting portion is shifted from a straight line connecting the first pivoting portion to the second pivoting portion so that the third pivoting portion and the first and second pivoting portions are disposed alternately and all the pivoting portions after being folded form a right-angle arranged pattern. The foot stand is folded on the inner side of the middle tube and arranged in parallel to inner and outer portions of the middle tube.

  • Patent number: 6194683
Abstract: The top and bottom parts of a one-piece cover of a PCMCIA card are snapped together to form lap-joint seams which are welded together with a laser, under argon gas. Only a few small tack welds are required to substantially increases the mechanical strength and moisture resistance and to eliminate the risk of accidentally opening the card. The operation can be done at a high rate with minimal cost. Also, an internal frame may be made much narrower to allow more card area, while still meeting structural requirements for PCMCIA cards. The weld penetrates fully through the first layer of the seam and only partially through a second layer. During welding a fixture holds the seams in reasonably precise position and tightly closed so the seams are much tighter after welding than when the card is only snap closed. The precise positioning of the seams also allows the size of the weld to be minimized which reduces the risk of burn through which may damage electronic components enclosed within the card during welding.
