  • Publication number: 20070290065
Abstract: A device adapted to disseminate a volatile liquid, such as a fragrance, into an atmosphere comprises a reservoir (1) containing the liquid (6) and a capillary means (8) for conveying the liquid from the reservoir to the atmosphere. The reservoir has an upper orifice (2) into which the capillary means fits loosely. This orifice is in liquid-tight contact with a tubular member (3), which extends downwards into the reservoir, the tubular member and reservoir being proportioned such as to define a liquid-retaining volume regardless of the orientation of the device. The liquid is preferably introduced by means of a sealed cartridge (5), which may be supplied separately or as an integral part of the device. The device allows the use of a wide variety of capillary means and has the advantage of being spillproof.

  • Patent number: 7093949
Abstract: A device is described which includes a vertical body, the vertical body having contained therein a wick and a source of a vaporizable material. The vertical body further includes at an open end a silky material with irregular shapes to simulate the profiles of a flame such as a candle flame. Within the vertical body is a means for supplying an air current such that, when operating, the air current passes upward causing the silky material to flutter and simulate a flame, while also entraining vaporizable material which is present in the wick.

  • Publication number: 20040188535
Abstract: A gel air-freshener device comprising a container defining a cavity for receiving a fragrance-containing gel matrix (7), the container having an aperture (4) for permitting ingress of air into the cavity and egress of fragrance from the cavity, and having first (1) and second ends (3), which ends abut the gel-matrix (7) and move freely relative to each other as the gel matrix (7) shrinks upon evaporation of the fragrance. The device exploits the shrinkage of the gel-matrix (7) and translates this into movement of the device thereby providing a visual cue as to the condition of the gel matrix and in particular when it is exhausted.
