  • Publication number: 20260260501
Abstract: A device for detecting a distraction of a vehicle driver located on a driver seat of a vehicle includes at least one camera and at least on processing unit. The camera is supported by the vehicle, and is configured to capture at least one image having a depiction of an area of a vehicle interior comprising at least one arm of a vehicle driver and to generate image data corresponding to the image. The at least one processing unit is configured to process the image data, and to determine a position of the at least one arm of the vehicle driver and a hand position of a hand of the at least one arm based at least in part on the image data. The processing unit is further configured to check whether the determined hand position of the vehicle driver corresponds with a stored device position.

  • Publication number: 20260220947
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for controlling a vehicle function of a vehicle is provided. The method includes: receiving conversation indicator information including indications of whether a driver of the vehicle is engaged in a telephone conversation, determining, based on the conversation indicator information, that the driver is engaged in a telephone conversation, receiving conversation intensity information including indications of how deeply the driver is engaged in the telephone conversation, determining an attention level of the driver towards the telephone conversation depending on the conversation intensity information, and generating a control signal for a vehicle function of the vehicle depending on the determined attention level.

  • Publication number: 20260196063
Abstract: A method for controlling a function of a vehicle by means of a terminal of a user includes a step of capturing image data using at least one image capture apparatus in an interior of the vehicle, wherein the image data contains at least one view of the terminal of the user. The method also includes recognizing content on the terminal of the user by analyzing the image data to generated recognized content. The method further includes assigning the recognized content to a function of the vehicle, and controlling the function of the vehicle depending on the recognized content.

  • Publication number: 20260170665
Abstract: A method for tracking an object includes detecting a plurality of chronologically consecutive reference signals, each representing a body part. An object signal which represents the object is detected using an electro-optical acquisition device, wherein the object is mechanically coupled to the body part. The method includes determining a plurality of reference positions of the body part in relation to a specified position of the acquisition device. An object position is determined with respect to the specified position using the object signa. The method further includes determining a transformation value of a geometric characteristic that represents a difference between the object position of the object relative to the reference position which was determined using the reference signal detected substantially simultaneously with the object signal. A plurality of additional object positions are determined using one of the plurality of reference positions of the body part and the transformation value.

  • Publication number: 20260162445
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a child lock of a vehicle includes at least one camera of the vehicle and a control unit. The at least one camera is configured to capture at least one image having a depiction of an area of an interior of the vehicle and to generate image data corresponding to the at least one image. The control unit processes the image data to determine based on the image data whether an occupant actuates a central locking system of the vehicle, in order to ascertain based on the image data whether the occupant of the vehicle is a vulnerable person or a non-vulnerable person. The control unit executes a child lock function if it has ascertained that the occupant who actuates the central locking system is a vulnerable person.

  • Publication number: 20260070568
Abstract: A device for controlling a vehicle function of a vehicle includes a processor configured to determine that the user of the vehicle has a viewing direction deviation of: (a) viewing direction vectors of the left eye and (b) viewing direction vectors of the right eye of the user. The processor is configured to, in response to the determination, effectuate at least one measure with respect to a view-based control of a vehicle function of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 12528472
Abstract: A method for operating a driver assistance system includes triggering an assistance measure according to a current degree of attentiveness of a vehicle occupant while a motor vehicle is traveling. The current degree of attentiveness is identified in that, during travel and within an observation interval, a current eye opening width of at least one eye of the vehicle occupant is recorded several times as the distance between an upper and a lower eye measurement point, and a frequency distribution of the various eye opening widths is calculated for the at least one observation interval. Comparative frequency distributions are provided, with a known degree of attentiveness being assigned to each comparative frequency distribution. On the basis of a comparison, it is determined which of the comparative frequency distributions is closest to the frequency distribution observed.

  • Publication number: 20250139994
Abstract: A method of monitoring a state of a driver of a vehicle uses a camera in the interior of the vehicle. A viewing behavior of a driver of the vehicle is determined during an active driving situation using the camera. The method includes determining a target viewing sequence of the active driving situation, and determining an actual viewing sequence during the active driving situation depending on the viewing behavior of the driver of the vehicle. A change in the actual viewing sequence from the target viewing sequence during the active driving situation is determined. The method also includes determining the state of the driver as tired if the change in the actual viewing sequence from the target viewing sequence indicates that a time interval between at least two views of the actual viewing sequence exceeds a predetermined threshold value.
