Abstract: The present invention relates to a lubricating composition containing (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (b) a star polymer and (c) a substantially linear polymer with a weight average molecular weight of 45,000 or less. First and second textured surfaces are provided for making contact with the skin, with the surfaces being moved to create a stimulus which alleviates the perception of pain. The movement may be linear, rotary or a combination of both, and just a single textured surface may be provided.

Abstract: Multi-layered vaginal rings 2 comprising silicone elastomers and pharmaceutically active ingredients are disclosed. The rings comprise a number of layers, at least one of which contains a pharmaceutically active ingredient, and each of which is a silicone elastomer. The multiple layers preferably are produced from these layers of different compositions, including an inner layer 4, a middle layer 5, and an outer layer 6. After extrusion and simultaneous curing, however, the ring 2 includes a contiguous body which comprises a continuous silicone body providing unimpeded diffusion of the pharmaceutically active ingredient from the inner layer (s) 4 to the outer layer (s) 6. Methods of producing these vaginal rings and of using them are also disclosed.

Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatuses are described for credit default swap (CDS) settlement pricing. The method includes receiving at least quoted prices and/or executed prices, and using them to calculate a settlement price of CDSs in a portfolio. The calculation of the settlement price may also consider other information, such as recovery rate, hazard rate function, etc. The invention also may include an electronic trading platform that is fully integrated with a central counterparty clearing facility for CDSs.

Abstract: A corneal reshaping by means of a soft contact lens to manipulate tear pressure gradient to produce a dimensional change to the surface profile of the cornea of the wearer to provide at least a temporary change in the refractive state of the eye eliminating the need for other refractive corrections. The contact lens has mechanical properties and/or a geometric shape such that when the lens is fitted to the eye the pressure applied to the eye via the lens will vary in a radial direction between at least one zone of higher pressure and at least one zone of lower pressure so that wearing the lens will over time cause a dimensional change to the surface layer of the cornea.

Abstract: A locking arrangement for a door system of a transit vehicle includes a combination of a lock mechanism and an electromagnetic brake. The lock mechanism enables positive locking of at least one door but does not require substantial contact between moving and stationary lock elements. The lock mechanism is connected with the manual release means for door opening during an emergency. The electromagnetic brake maintains door seal compression in the closed and locked condition which improves sealing capabilities and provides for reliable lock mechanism operation. Such combination provides locking redundancy and meets various requirements regarding annunciation and manual release operation.
