  • Publication number: 20220003930
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for laser-based splicing of a glass fiber (1) onto an optical component (3), comprising the following steps: arranging both surfaces to be spliced substantially parallel to each other and at a predefined distance from each other; and aiming a laser beam (4) at the optical component (3). In order to specify an improved method in which the properties of the joining partners are maintained to the greatest extent during splicing, which exhibits high reproducibility and in particular is suitable for splicing joining partners of different cross-sections, the invention proposes that the angle of incidence of the laser beam (4) on the surface of the optical component be between 15° and 45°.

  • Patent number: 9233873
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a process for the silicate bonding of joined surfaces, facing one another, of two components by means of an aqueous, alkaline, silicon-cation-containing joining solution for the purpose of producing an optical element, characterized in that one or both of said joined surfaces (1; 2b; 10) are covered with a layer of an oxide (3), which has a higher refractive index than SiO2 and is selected from among oxides of the third and fourth main group elements, of the second and third group of the transition elements as well as zirconium and from among mixed oxides of the said elements, whereupon the joining solution is applied to at least one of the surfaces to be joined and the surfaces are bonded to one another.

  • Publication number: 20100288422
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for joining two or more components made of glass, ceramic, and/or glass ceramic, using a soluble glass joining solution having sodium, potassium, and/or lithium ions and/or a silica sol, the joining solution being applied to joint surfaces between the components to be joined and solidified at mild temperatures, the method being either characterized in that the joining solution comprises an additive selected among boric acid, boron compounds from which boric acid can result by hydrolysis, aluminum acetates, aluminum silicate/NH3/H2O titanium compounds forming titanium hydroxy cations, water-soluble zinc compounds, water-soluble zircon compounds, and water-soluble yttrium compounds, wherein said additive is added in an amount that reduces the pH value of the underlying soluble glass, and/or characterized in that, after the joining solution is applied and the components to be joined are brought together and fixed, the joined components are dried by removing water at room
