Abstract: The invention relates to a heating element (20), in particular for heating user contact surfaces of a passenger compartment of a vehicle, comprising a) at least one heating zone in which at least one first electrical conductor strand is disposed for heating a passenger of the automotive vehicle; b) at least one additional second conductor strand for supplying electrical energy into the at least one first conductor strand for heating the heating zone; c) a contact area in which the at least one additional second conductor strand is connected, in an electrically conductive manner, to the at least one first conductor strand for heating the heating zone; and wherein at least one of the first or second conductor strands includes at least one filament-like inner strand core comprising a polyamide, a carbon fiber, a polypropylene, or a polyester and at least one jacket layer that includes silver, copper, gold, nickel, or an alloy thereof.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a method of forming a ventilated seat. More specifically, in one aspect, the present invention is directed towards providing an insert in fluid communications with an air mover and a seating surface, wherein the system optionally includes a thermoelectric device for providing heating or cooling of air flowing through the insert.

Abstract: The vehicle seat has a supporting element in the form of a seat and/or back section with a padded core 2 in at least one piece for supporting a seat user, with a cover 9 that at least partially conceals the padded core 2, and with an anchoring channel on which the surface of the supporting element features an elongated depression 17. Provision is made for an anchoring device 21, 22, 24 which draws in the cover 9 at least indirectly along the anchoring channel in the direction of the seat core 2 into the supporting element. Between the cover 9 and the seat core 2 provision is made for a ventilation layer 55 through which air can flow that is curved to the contour of the depression 17 of the anchoring channel, at least partially following it, such that the ventilation layer 55 in the area of the anchoring channel essentially retains its layer thickness (d) in spite of the depression 17 in the surface.
