  • Publication number: 20250068467
Abstract: A contiguous memory allocation device includes a memory and a processor. The memory is configured to store at least one command. The processor is configured to read the at least one command to execute following steps: calculating a page thrashing value of the memory; determining a corresponding relation between the page thrashing value and a predetermined thrashing value; and deciding whether to lend a contiguous memory according to the corresponding relation.

  • Patent number: 9220405
Abstract: A method for adaptively determining a model of visual performance of a test subject comprising the step of exposing a test subject to a plurality of trials. Each trial comprises the steps of identifying the stimulus pattern to test, generating a stimulus pattern on a display, determining whether the stimulus pattern generated an OKR, updating the model to incorporate the OKR results, and determining whether the updated model is acceptable. The trials can be iteratively repeated until the model for visual performance is acceptable.

  • Patent number: 8110605
Abstract: The invention discloses a novel compound effective in inactivating viruses and bacteria. The compound, 2-(10-mercaptodecyl)-propanedioic acid or salts thereof, is shown to disrupt, break down or inactivate viruses and bacteria, thus suppressing infection and proliferation thereof in host cells. A method of chemically synthesizing the novel compound is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6990877
Abstract: A torque wrench includes a pressure handle, a sheath end, a directional brake module, an overload movement ring, rolling rods, rolling beads and spring bolsters. The overload movement ring is provided between the brake section of directional brake module and the assembly groove of sheath end. The interior of the overload movement ring is designed with a circular tooth rim for the articulation/brake of the brake section of directional brake module, whereas the exterior is designed with a polygon. Moreover, a containment groove is provided at the intersection of various surfaces to accommodate the rolling rod and rolling bead, thus the outer flank of various rolling rods and rolling beads will protrude the aperture of the containment groove, and then keep in close contact with the wall of the assembly groove. One surface of the overload movement ring is supported and braked by the movable shore of spring bolster.

  • Patent number: 3991981
Abstract: A balustrade comprising an elongated hand rail having longitudinal guide grooves formed along the two lateral sides thereof, a plurality of resilient connectors slidably engaged in said grooves, and a plurality of supporting balusters connected to the hand rail through said connectors. A tapered recess having a threaded peripheral wall is provided at the bottom of each connector for receiving a threaded end of the baluster. The connector can be slidably adjusted to any desirable position along the grooves before the baluster is connected thereto, and when the baluster is screwed into the tapered portion of the recess by some external force, the resilient connector is forced to expand with part or all of its surface abutting against the inner surface of the hand rail whereby to keep the baluster in position. The other ends of the balusters are then fixed to the ground to complete the balustrade.
