  • Publication number: 20250142470
Abstract: The efficient usage of receivers for paging-early-indication (PEI) reception in a user equipment (UE) is described. The UE determines to use a wake-up receiver (WUR) as the primary receiver for monitoring PEO when waking up in Discontinuous Reception (DRX). The WUR consumes less power than a main receiver of the UE. The UE detects, at the WUR, a PEI and activates the main receiver of the UE for monitoring a paging occasion (PO). Responsive to determining that a condition for using the WUR as the primary receiver for monitoring PEI when waking up in DRX is not satisfied. the UE switches to using the main receiver as the primary receiver for monitoring PEI when waking up in DRX and not using the WUR for monitoring PEI.

  • Patent number: 12232029
Abstract: A wireless device, such as a user equipment, UE, determines (410) a first sleep opportunity for the wireless device and evaluates (420) one or more energy-related parameters for each of a plurality of possible sleep modes for the wireless device. The plurality of possible sleep modes correspond to varying degrees of reduced energy consumption by the wireless device, relative to a non-sleep mode. The wireless device selects (430) a first one of the plurality of possible sleep modes for the wireless device, based on this evaluating, and activates (440) the selected sleep mode during the first sleep opportunity.

  • Publication number: 20250048261
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for NES (network energy savings) operations in a network. A network node may transmit to user equipments (UEs) an indication about an NES operation activation for one or more cells. The UE(s) may send a reconfiguration request to modify the NES operation for one or more cells, for example to avoid a degradation in service that may negatively impact key performance indicators or quality of experience. In response, the network node may modify the NES operation. The network node may then send an updated indication about the modified NES operation for the one or more cells.
