  • Publication number: 20220150154
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes configuring a mesh network of node devices for routing data. Based on detecting a connection to a second device, the first node device sends a mesh node signature to the second device and receives a mesh node signature from the second device. The mesh node signature list of the first node device is updated to include the mesh node signature of the second device. If mesh network requirements are satisfied based on the mesh node signature list, a mesh network configuration is generated by the first node device based on mesh network configuration rules and the updated mesh node signature list. The mesh network configuration is sent to at least the second device by the first node device based on the mesh node signature list and the first node device routes network traffic data to at least the second device based on the mesh network configuration.

  • Patent number: 9461832
Abstract: The present technology comprises a method and apparatus for a routing protocol for a router including an apparatus and method for distance vector multicast routing. The method and apparatus as disclosed and claimed offers a new interpretation of the routing information stored in a DVMRP routing table. This interpretation relates to the knowledge of the locations of a multicast source router and the routers connected to hosts with group members in a DVMRP domain. The methodology exploits this knowledge to create two conditional packet forwarding checks, based on pseudo-diameter and super-pseudo-diameter respectively, and used these conditions to extend the two phases of the existing DVMRP to improve its performance from the viewpoint of much better utilization of bandwidth.
