Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for spatial stream optimization using dynamic bandwidth. A WiFi scheduler of an access device, such as a customer premises equipment (CPE), may obtain communication parameters about a cellular connection of the access device, such as bandwidth part (BWP) information or start and end markers of downlink data transmissions over the cellular connection. The access device may select a number of spatial streams (NSS) for wireless local area network (WLAN) communications according to the received communication parameters pertaining to the cellular connection, and communicate with one or more stations (STAs) over a WLAN connection using the selected number of spatial streams.

Abstract: A UE may be configured to receive, from a base station, consecutive DCI messages including respective indicator values that are equal, each of the indicator values indicating an association with one of a new transmission or a retransmission. The UE may be further configured to remain in an awake state for at least a portion of a scheduled sleep state of a DRX cycle scheduled by the base station based on the respective indicator values being equal across the consecutive DCI messages. A base station may be configured to transmit, to a UE, a DCI message indicating a set of resources allocated to the UE for a transmission, and to transmit, to the UE, data to synchronize a DRX cycle with the UE based on an absence of the transmission from the set of resources allocated to the UE.

  • Publication number: 20220330146
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for coordinating sleep modes between a wireless local area network (WLAN) access point (AP) and a cellular modem of an access point. In one aspect, the access point may obtain, from the cellular modem, information relating to a radio resource control (RRC) state transition or one or more power-saving events of the cellular modem and may select a power mode for the WLAN AP of the access device in accordance with the obtained information. In some implementations, selecting the power mode for the WLAN AP may include configuring the WLAN AP to either accept or reject a sleep mode request from a station (STA) served by the WLAN AP. As such, the access device may communicate with the STA using the WLAN AP in accordance with the accepted or rejected sleep mode request.

  • Publication number: 20220312377
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to indicate a transmission scheme configuration for a message and whether the message is a retransmission or new transmission. In a first example, a base station may configure a subset of one or more feedback process identifiers (IDs) for multicast messages. In such cases, if a grant includes a feedback process ID associated with one of the reserved IDs, the message scheduled by the grant may be a retransmission of a multicast message. In a second example, feedback process IDs may be dynamically allocated to multicast or unicast messages via a corresponding grant. A message may be identified as a new transmission or retransmission of a unicast message or multicast message based on a combination of an ID associated with the grant and a new data indicator (NDI) of the grant.

  • Publication number: 20220286907
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a radio bearer may detect, at a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer, expiry of a timer associated with a packet for transmission. The radio bearer may be configured to discard the packet upon expiry of the timer. Accordingly, the radio bearer may re-enqueue, at a modem of the radio bearer or at an application layer of the radio bearer and based at least in part on detecting expiry of the timer, the packet as a new packet for transmission before discarding the packet. Additionally, or alternatively, the radio bearer may retransmit the packet based at least in part on instructions from an application, executed on one or more processors of the radio bearer, that received the packet from the PDCP layer before the packet was discarded. Numerous other aspects are described.

The apparatus receives, from a base station, a plurality of data packets. The plurality of data packets received from a first path and a second path. The apparatus detects at least one packet of the plurality of data packets at a PDCP is dropped based on an OOW. The apparatus determines a scheduling gap between the first path and the second path. The apparatus determines a timing relationship between the UE, the first path, and the second path. The apparatus determines consecutive sequence numbers associated with packets corresponding to the frame numbering sequence of the first path and the frame numbering sequence of the second path and a respective associated time. The apparatus adjusts a reorder timer based on the scheduling gap between the first path and the second path.
