The first and second cores have a combination of thickness and rigidity to render the cutting tool suitable for use in cutting, and the first and second exoskeletons have a combination of thickness and softness to provide comfort during extended use of the cutting tool. The upper portion of the tool holder assembly includes a container and a multitude of thin rods which engage and press against tools inserted into the container. A containment net is placed over the projecting top portions of the tools and is secured by clips which engage retainers mounted at the top portion of the container. The tool holder assembly is installed by relative rotation between the upper portion and the base assembly.

    Abstract: A multi-functional holster is especially adapted for receiving a pair of child's scissors. The holster is preferably in the form of a rigid or semi-rigid housing having a front and a flange-like periphery defining a scissor opening. A chute is mounted to said housing for receiving the blades of a pair of scissors inserted into the scissor opening. A pencil sharpener is mounted to the housing and interiorly disposed to be accessible through an access opening through the flange-like periphery. The scissors are retained in said housing by at least one magnet and at least one retention tab. The front of the housing may be generally shaped in the form of an apple or a whale and be suitably decorated to appeal to a child.

One of the components has a thumb bow which forms a thumb opening and also defines a transition opening between the thumb opening and the pivot. The second component comprises a finger bow which forms a finger opening and also defines a transition opening between the finger bow and the pivot. The molded components are manufactured by injecting ABS or other molded material through an injection gate which is adjacent a reduced neck portion and a connecting strut which integrally connects the neck portion with the bow portion and partially defines a transition opening.
