  • Patent number: 9257802
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a base with a number of contacts, a cover pivotally mounted to the base, a pair of supporting components for mating with the cover and a pair of rail brackets for mating with the base. Each supporting component is pivotal between an opening status and a closed status relative to the base. The base is slidable relative to the rail brackets along a front-to-back direction. The cover and the pair of supporting components are mateable with each other in condition that one of the cover and the pair of supporting components pivots clockwise while a remaining one of the cover and the pair of supporting components pivots anticlockwise.

  • Patent number: 9160113
Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of contacts retained in the insulative housing and a cover shielding the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a top wall, a pair of side walls and a plug-receiving cavity formed thereby. Each contact includes a resilient contacting portion extending into the plug-receiving cavity. The cover includes a top plate covering the top wall and a pair of side plates respectively covering the pair of side walls. Each side plate includes an engaging arm extending inwardly therefrom. The insulative housing defines a pair of cutouts formed at boundaries of the top wall and the pair of side walls. The pair of engaging arms extend into the plug-receiving cavity through the pair of cutouts, respectively.

  • Patent number: 9136632
Abstract: A connector includes a housing and a contact module received in the housing. The housing defines a receiving cavity for accommodating a complementary connector, a mounting space communicating with the receiving cavity, and a pair of mounting blocks located at opposite lateral sides of the mounting space. The contact module includes a base and a number of contacts fixed in the base. The base includes a pair of lateral side edges. Each contact includes a retaining portion fixed in the base and a contacting portion extending slantly from the retaining portion into the receiving space of the housing. The contacts include a pair of side contacts located at opposite outmost sides thereof. The retaining portion of each side contact is disposed with a protruding section protruding laterally beyond corresponding lateral side edge of the base to engage with respective mounting block formed on the housing.

  • Patent number: 9004927
Abstract: A low-profile electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts and a pair of mounting pieces positioned at opposite sides of the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a half-opened plug-receiving space. Each contact includes a fixing portion, a deformable contacting portion extending into the plug-receiving space and a soldering portion for being mounted to a circuit board. Each mounting piece includes a retaining portion, a bending portion extending sidewardly from the retaining portion and a mounting portion parallel to the retaining portion. The mounting portions are adapted for being fixed to the circuit board in order that when a plug is inserted into the plug-receiving space, the mounting portions replace the soldering portions to bear a great deal of impact force.
