  • Patent number: 11451358
Abstract: Techniques are provided to control the activation of resource sets via medium access control (MAC) signaling. In some aspect, a radio network node generates a MAC message comprising a first field indicating whether a second field is present, or absent, in the MAC message, the second field identifying one or more resource sets among a plurality of resource sets which are to be activated or deactivated, and a third field comprising quasi co-location (QCL) information. The radio network node then transmits the MAC message to a wireless device.

  • Patent number: 11438035
Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-beam Channel State Information (CSI) reporting are provided. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a second node connected to a first node in a wireless communication network for reporting multi-beam CSI includes reporting a rank indicator and a beam count indicator in a first transmission to the first node. The method also includes reporting a cophasing indicator in a second transmission to the first node. The cophasing indicator identifies a selected entry of a codebook of cophasing coefficients where the number of bits in the cophasing indicator is identified by at least one of the beam count indicator and the rank indicator. In this way, feedback for both a rank indicator and a beam count indicator may be possible which may allow robust feedback and variably sized cophasing and beam index indicators.

  • Patent number: 11405138
Abstract: Systems and methods for mixed space time and space frequency block coding are provided. In some embodiments, a method of operating a first node in a wireless communication network for providing time and frequency diversity includes precoding modulation symbols intended for a second node according to two antenna ports on which they are to be transmitted. In a first subset of Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, mapping the precoded modulation symbols to resource elements starting first with indices corresponds to frequency. In a different subset of OFDM symbols, mapping the precoded modulation symbols to resource elements in any two adjacent OFDM symbols starting first with indices corresponds to time. In this way, transmission efficiency may be increased by not having any resource elements unused. Additional flexibility for precoding may also be provided when there is no symbol pair mapped to resource elements across two resource blocks.

  • Publication number: 20220232614
Abstract: Dynamic indication of multi-Transmission/Reception Point (TRP) Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission is provided. A solution is proposed to use an antenna port field (e.g., a Demodulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) port indication field) in Downlink Control Information (DCI) to jointly indicate both the DM-RS ports and the scheme used for a PDSCH transmission. When more than one Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) state is indicated in a DCI, a new DM-RS table is used in which a DM-RS port allocation is also linked to a transmission scheme. The solution enables flexible PDSCH scheduling without introducing additional DCI overhead.

  • Patent number: 11395319
Abstract: A method for differentiating multiple Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission schemes. In a non-limiting example, the PDSCH transmission schemes include a spatial multiplexing transmission scheme, a frequency multiplexing transmission scheme, a slot-based time multiplexing transmission scheme, and a mini-slot-based time multiplexing transmission scheme. In examples discussed herein, a User Equipment (UE) can be configured to differentiate the PDSCH transmission schemes based on information indicated in Downlink Control Information (DCI) for scheduling a PDSCH transmission, information signaled to the UE via a higher layer configuration, and/or capability signaling indicated from the UE to a network. By differentiating the PDSCH transmission schemes, the UE can efficiently receive a data transmission(s) from multiple Transmission/Reception Points (TRPs).

  • Publication number: 20220216944
Abstract: A method for repeating a Transport Block (TB) over multiple transmission occasions. The method includes exchanging specific signaling between a wireless device (e.g., a user equipment) and a network node (e.g., a base station) to repeat same or different redundancy versions of the TB in multiple non-overlapping transmission occasions (e.g., mini-slots) corresponding to multiple Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) states and having different start positions. More specifically, the network node transmits a Time Domain Resource Allocation (TDRA) to indicate the multiple non-overlapping transmission occasions and the wireless device receives the TDRA indicating the multiple non-overlapping transmission occasions. Accordingly, the wireless device can receive repetition of the TB according to the TDRA.
