  • Publication number: 20220137176
Abstract: A location server collects from access points at known locations in a venue, which is represented by grid locations defined by parameters accessible to the location server, (i) ultra wideband (UWB) location measurements for a UWB location technology based on UWB transmissions from mobile devices in the venue, and (ii) non-UWB location measurements for non-UWB location technologies based on non-UWB transmissions from the mobile devices. The location server associates the non-UWB location measurements for the non-UWB location technologies with the grid locations, using the UWB location measurements as reference measurements. The location server populates location calibration records for the grid locations of the venue with the non-UWB location measurements associated with the grid locations. The location server calibrates the non-UWB location technologies at the grid locations based on the non-UWB location measurements in the location calibration records associated with the grid locations.

  • Publication number: 20220094072
Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a plurality of antennas, a plurality of Front End Modules (FEMs) coupled to the antennas, an input for receiving Power over Ethernet (PoE), a PoE detector for identifying a type of PoE received at the apparatus, wherein the type of PoE is associated with a PoE power budget, and a power controller for applying a PoE power conservation policy based on the PoE power budget, wherein applying the PoE power conservation policy comprises switching between a normal operating voltage and a reduced operating voltage at the FEMs. A method is also disclosed herein.

  • Publication number: 20210349170
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a dual mode antenna, comprising: a first conductive piece; and a second conductive piece, configured to electromagnetically couple with the first conductive piece through a dielectric at a second frequency to operate as a loop antenna with the first conductive piece and configured to operate independently of the first conductive piece at a first frequency to operate as a monopole antenna. The dual mode antenna can be included in an antenna array as one of a plurality of dual mode antennas coupled to a routing substrate or a reference dual mode antenna coupled to the routing substrate along with a plurality of single mode antennas coupled to the routing substrate; wherein each antenna of the plurality of dual mode antennas, the reference dual mode antenna, and the plurality of single mode antennas is arranged evenly relative to a first neighboring antenna and a second neighboring antenna.

  • Publication number: 20210344461
Abstract: Embodiments for preliminary antenna configuration for a radio in an access point are described. A preliminary antenna configuration with a first number of antennas transmitting at a first power level based on a maximum transmission power for the radio is used to determine a second antenna configuration based on network level factors, where the second antenna configuration includes a second number of antennas. The second antenna configuration is used to determine a third antenna configuration from the second antenna configuration, where the third antenna configuration includes a third number of antennas transmitting at a third power level based on a client transmission factors for a plurality of client devices connected to the access point. The third antenna configuration is used to transmit network traffic from the access point to the plurality of client devices using the third antenna configuration.

  • Patent number: 11143738
Abstract: An access point includes first and second radios that operate in accordance with first and second wireless protocols, respectively. The access point performs a method including receiving a first protocol packet of the first wireless protocol and a second protocol packet of the second wireless protocol transmitted by a wireless device over a communication channel, and measuring a first received power of the first protocol packet and a second received power of the second protocol packet at the access point. The method further includes determining whether reception times of the first protocol packet and the second protocol packet are within a coherence time for the communication channel and, when the reception times are within the coherence time, combining the first received power and the second received power into a multiprotocol received power. The method also includes determining a location of the wireless device based on the multiprotocol received power.
