The at least one processor and the at least one memory are configured to support multiple tenant applications in a multi-tenancy cloud-computing environment, and two or more of the multiple tenant applications establish isolated communication link channels with a ground station utilizing the communication link interface.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided to enable a virtual FlatSat and distributed node architecture. The virtual platform may be or include a SaaS platform that enables multiple users to access computing nodes. The computing nodes may enable the users to test hardware sub-systems by connecting to the SaaS through a remote computer, or to test virtual hardware on the SaaS platform without use of the remote computer. Testing of physical or virtual hardware sub-systems on the remote computer may include application API execution that mimics local software, reducing the likelihood of failed testing of the hardware sub-systems.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a satellite or systems, which may include a satellite. The satellite, in some embodiments, may correspond to a software-defined satellite. The satellite may provide a platform-as-a-service, resources of which can be made available to one or multiple different tenants on a per-use basis. Each tenant may be able to securely access different resources of the satellite.

Abstract: Client devices may have internet and other services available simultaneously from a number of different networks such as wide area mobile broadband networks and local area networks such as Wi-Fi and Ethernet. In cases where a client device is receiving internet service from a local area network, the client device may still need to maintain the communication link with a wide area mobile broadband network even when not actively using its services. A method and apparatus are disclosed that enable a client device with mobile broadband connection capability and at least one local area connection capability to power off its mobile broadband modem but still be connected to mobile broadband network through the internet service which the client device may receive from the local area network. Powering off the mobile broadband modem of a client device may help reduce its power consumption.

The proximity detection may be used to control the transmit power of a wireless device to ensure that the transmit power is in the allowed power range as per various regulatory agencies. A method and apparatus are disclosed that enable adaptive Specific Absorption Rate control according to the combination RF transmit power of the multiple modems.

Abstract: In some scenarios it may be useful for a client terminal to know the location of one or more base stations in a wireless communication network. While a network may know its location accurately, it may not necessarily provide that information to client terminals. Furthermore, the location information for a base station may be required before a client terminal can communicate with a particular base station. A method and apparatus are disclosed that enable one or more base stations to determine their respective locations and efficiently provide that information to client terminals in broadcast, multicast or unicast manner. A client terminal may use the base station location information for improved client terminal and network performance, improved user experience, and reduced power consumption.

This may enable reduced cost and power consumption along with improved performance and user experience.

Abstract: As the variety and number of wireless client devices have increased, often there may be multiple client devices in close proximity of each other. In addition to the connectivity to the wireless wide area network (WWAN), the client devices may have short range link to directly connect with each other. Two or more client devices in a given area may be camped on the same cell of the same WWAN, and the client devices may be decoding the paging information from the same cell. A method and apparatus are disclosed such that a client device may decode the paging information from the WWAN and relay the WWAN paging information to other client devices over the short range link. This may enable other client devices to avoid having to decode the paging information directly from the WWAN which may reduce their power consumption.
