Abstract: An access system includes a laterally extending frame, a carriage in operative connection with the laterally extending frame and including a drive to move the carriage laterally on the frame, a seat support attached to the carriage including a seat assembly interface and a lift to raise and lower the seat assembly interface within a range of positions, a seat assembly attached to the seat assembly interface, a controller in operative connection with the drive of the carriage and the lift of the seat support via which the position of the seat support is controllable, and a controller interface in operative connection with the controller.

Abstract: An inventory container diverter system is described. The system includes a conveyor to move totes through a shipment processing area and a redirection device to push totes perpendicularly off the conveyor at predetermined locations. Adjacent the redirection device is a chute which the tote slides down to present the tote to a user at an easily accessible height and tilted at such an angle to enable simple and efficient access to the interior of the tote. The chute includes a door to help prevent totes from falling out of the chute. A tote sensor detects when the chute is occupied by a tote or when it is clear and a door sensor detects when the door of the chute is closed. When the door is closed and the chute is clear the system directs a new tote to the redirection device and pushes it into the chute.

Abstract: A shim device and system for securing a unit load device (ULD) using the shim device are described. In one example, the system includes a pop-up lock in a deck for transporting a ULD. The system also includes the shim device, which can be placed between the ULD and the pop-up lock. The shim device provides a mechanical interference as a wedge, occupying any limited space that might exist between the bottom edge of the ULD and the pop-up lock. Thus, the shim device can prevent the ULD from moving by occupying the limited space between the ULD and the pop-up lock. In one example, the shim device includes a shim block having top, bottom, and side surfaces, an inner aperture that extends through the shim block, and a handle connected with and extending from the shim block.

Abstract: A method of sorting a first subset of items in an order handling center, wherein at least a majority of the items of the first subset are sized below a predetermined size limit. The method includes directing the first subset of the items through an opening into a bag having a plurality of panels of flexible material coupled together at a plurality of seams. The method includes causing the bag to assume a substantially cuboid shape as the bag is filled to capacity with the first subset of items and stacking the bag on a pallet at a staging destination within the order handling center. The staging destination is associated with a delivery route from the order handling center.
