  • Patent number: 10097992
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed comprising a gateway, a number of base stations, and a mobile device. The gateway holds information mapping address data for each base station to information identifying a respective cell operated by that base station. A base station obtains information identifying a cell operated by a neighbor base station and provides this information to the gateway. The gateway obtains from the information held address data for the neighbor base station based on the information identifying the cell operated by the neighbor base station. The gateway generates and sends a message including address data to the base station. The base station receives the message and establishes a connection with the neighbor base station using the address data.

  • Publication number: 20180220290
Abstract: A system is described in which a default mobility management entity (MME) receives, from a base station, a request for setting up a communication connection to a mobile device having an associated usage type. The default MME sends, to the base station and responsive to the request, a message identifying a dedicated MME, to which the request should be re-routed, the dedicated MME having a supported service type corresponding to the usage type associated with the mobile device. The base station sends a response to the default MME, the response indicating whether re-routing to said dedicated MME is was successful or not (e.g. due to an overload of the dedicated MME). If the re-routing was not successful, the default MME attempts to serve the mobile device instead of the dedicated MME.

  • Publication number: 20170318491
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a serving base station configures a mobile device for performing measurements with respect to signals transmitted by a neighbour base station. The serving base station obtains a measurement report from the mobile device, the measurement report comprising a result of signal measurements in association with information identifying a beamformed region in which a signal to which said result of said signal measurements relates was transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20160227449
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed comprising a gateway and a number of base stations communicating, via the gateway, in accordance with a base station to base station application protocol. The gateway receives a message from a first base station, destined for a second base station. The message comprises (a) information for the second base station, in a first part of the message; and (b) an identifier of the second base station, in a second part of the message other than the first part. The gateway can obtain from the received message the second base station's identifier without the gateway being required to obtain the information from the first part of the message. The gateway routes the message to the second base station identified by the obtained identifier.

  • Publication number: 20160179456
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a control device/means and method for selectively projecting/mirroring graphical user interfaces of one or plurality of computing devices in a collaborative session. The control device configures one computing device as a master and the rest as slaves and form a collaborative network securely and in a controlled manner on demand. On receiving requests from one or plurality of computing devices that intend to project their graphical interfaces, the said control means decide in terms of which of these requesting computing devices will be allowed based on inputs from the configured master. The said control means stores one or plurality of projected screens in a control manner for one or plurality of computing devices to download and apply one or plurality of modifications before projecting the modified projected screens. The control device operates a version control for joint documents working in a controlled way.

  • Publication number: 20160182043
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a control system for power safe operations that selectively control the power supply to an electrical equipment. According to the present invention, motion sensor and/or human touch/presence sensor data indicative respectively of motion or safe-use of an electrical equipment may be received and processed. In addition, orientation/tilt sensor data indicative of current orientation/tilt of an electrical equipment may be received and processed. A determination may be made by comparing the current orientation against a threshold. A further determination may be made by comparing processed motion or human touch/presence sensor data to a threshold. Based on the determination, electrical supply to an electrical equipment may be suspended preferably after a warning. Warning can preferably be in the form of a flashing light or an audible sound and communicated to a user handheld device.

  • Publication number: 20150215851
Abstract: A mobile telecommunications network comprising an operations and maintenance centre operable to maintain operation and maintenance of the network. The network also comprises a plurality of cells, each comprising a physical cell identifier (PCI), wherein some of the cells are fixed cells, and some of the cells are mobile cells. A first cell comprises an eNB operable to host an automatic neighbour relation (ANR) function, including a neighbour relation table (NRT), to maintain details of cells from the plurality of cells neighbouring the first cell. The eNB maintains, in the NRT, information regarding whether a neighbouring cell is fixed or mobile.

  • Publication number: 20140301370
Abstract: A wireless communication network comprising a first base station, a second base station and a relay node. The relay node is one of a plurality of types (eg type 1, type 1a or type 1b) present within the network, and the relay node is connected to the first base station. When handover is required, the first base station sends a handover request to the second base station of information pertaining to the handover, including information regarding the relay node's type and/or radio capabilities.

  • Patent number: 8825767
Abstract: The present invention proposes methodologies, a system and a secure spontaneous collaboration framework along with a suitable application and services suite for enabling new paradigm of social networking among users of handheld devices by bridging gab between infra-structure-based networks and mobile ad hoc networks. While supporting three different operating modes for the spontaneous collaboration that suits the user preference and network conditions, the proposed solutions hide the complexity of finding the right peer/device for spontaneous collaboration, self-organizing the network to be formed on-demand, mitigating the security threat, being aware of user mobility for service continuity across wide variety of networks. Binding a given user to user's handheld device and specifying the number of applications/services enabling spontaneous collaborations that a given user is interested in are possible through user-profile creations.

  • Publication number: 20130064173
Abstract: A relay node operable to maintain an access link to a UE and a backhaul link to a D-eNB, wherein each of access link and backhaul links are controlled by separate states. The separate states may be independent from one another. The backhaul link consists of at least two states: the first state and the second state of backhaul link. In the first state, a relay node monitors signals from D-eNB continuously. In the second state, a relay node monitors signal from D-eNB discontinuously. The access link consists of at least two states: the first state and the second state of access link. In the first state, a relay node transmits common control signals. In the second state, a relay node can pause the transmission of common control signals or transmit common control signals in longer period than in the first state of access link (DTX).

  • Publication number: 20120197967
Abstract: Internet has brought in different means of communication that go beyond the boundaries of conventional interaction/communication methods. Therefore, it should now be possible to communicate with total strangers securely without having to worry about privacies. This invention thus relates to a method/system/framework enabling an online directory creation for the purpose of anonymous communication/interaction among total strangers seamlessly and securely using one or plurality of communication modes/media/mechanism without compromising the privacies of the communication parties involved and without them having to know the exact contact details of each other. Also, modern communication technologies enable any social entity to have a numerous forms of contacts. A conventional business card cannot hold this growing number of contact details.
