  • Publication number: 20240209217
Abstract: An electronic telecommunication article is described comprising a layer of fluoropolymer composition comprising an uncrosslinked fluoropolymer comprising at least 80, 85, or 90% by weight of polymerized units perfluorinated monomers including one or more unsaturated perfluorinated alkyl ethers. In typical embodiments, the uncrosslinked fluoropolymer comprises at least 10, 20, or 30 wt. % of one or more unsaturated perfluorinated alkyl ethers. The uncrosslinked fluoropolymer may be characterized as amorphous. The uncrosslinked fluoropolymer is soluble in fluorinated solvent. Also described are coated (e.g. copper) substrates, methods, and compositions.

  • Publication number: 20230311038
Abstract: Electret webs include a thermoplastic resin and a charge-enhancing additive. The charge-enhancing additive is a substituted-benzoic acid or a substituted-benzoate salt. The benzoic acid and benzoate salts are substituted by a hydroxyl or amino group at the ortho position or 1 position of the benzene ring. The benzene ring may contain additional substituent groups. The substituted-benzoate salt may have a monovalent, divalent, or trivalent metal counteraction.

  • Publication number: 20220204817
Abstract: Primer layers for adhesion of pressure sensitive adhesive materials to substrates comprise a cured primer which is the reaction product of an epoxy resin and a polyamine. The epoxy resin may be an aromatic epoxy resin. The polyamine may be a polymer such as polyethylenimine (PEI) or polyvinylamine (PVA). Two-layer constructions comprise the primer layer according to the present disclosure and a substrate layer, which may be directly bound to the primer layer. The substrate layer may comprise one or more polyester polymers, may comprise one or more polymers comprising aromatic groups, and/or may comprise polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Tapes comprise the two-layer construction according to the present disclosure and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer, which may be directly bound to the primer layer. The tape may comprise a second pressure sensitive adhesive layer borne on the opposite face of the tape and optionally a foam layer.

  • Publication number: 20220177743
Abstract: A method of making a release coated article is described comprising: providing a release coating comprising at least 50 wt. % of monomer(s) comprising an ethylenically unsaturated group and a terminal alkyl group with at least 18 (e.g. contiguous) carbon atoms based on the total amount of ethylenically unsaturated components; crosslinking components(s) comprising at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups; and at least one polymerization initiator. The release coating is substantially solventless, comprising no greater than 1 wt. % of non-polymerizable organic solvent. The method further comprises applying the release coating to a major surface of a substrate; and polymerizing the monomer(s) and crosslinking component(s) of the release coating after applying the release coating to the substrate.
