Publication number: 20230284629Abstract: Disclosed are methods of forming an antimicrobial and/or antiviral metal coating on a substrate comprising surface groups that bond to a metal alkoxide to form a 3-dimensional metal oxide/alkoxide adhesion layer. The methods include A) soaking or spraying a substrate comprising a 3-dimensional metal oxide/alkoxide layer with a solution of a transition metal salt, and reduction of the transition metal salt to form a continuous network of transition metal within the 3-D layer, or B) soaking or spraying a substrate comprising a 3-dimensional metal oxide/alkoxide layer with a solution of a post-transition metal salt, sintering at high temperature to form a continuous post-transition metal network within the 3-D layer, and electrolyzing to replace post-transition metal with a transition metal.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2021Publication date: September 14, 2023Applicants: THE TRUSTEES OF PRINCETON UNIVERSITY, ORTHOBOND CORPORATIONInventors: Jeffrey Schwartz, Carlos E. Publication number: 20230267177Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods to efficiently execute predictions models to identify future values associated with various nodes. A server retrieves a set of nodes and generates a primary prediction model using data aggregated based on all nodes. The server then executes various clustering algorithms in order to segment the nodes into different clusters. The server then generates a secondary (corrective) prediction model to calculate a correction needed to improve the results achieved by executing the primary prediction model for each cluster. When a node with unknown/limited data and attributes is identified, the server identifies a cluster most similar the new node and further identifies a corresponding secondary prediction model. The server then executes the primary prediction model in conjunction with the identified secondary prediction model to populate a graphical user interface with an accurate predicted future attribute for the new node.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2023Publication date: August 24, 2023Applicant: Mastercard International IncorporatedInventors: Thomas Lomont, Sen Yang, Siyang Li, John Ingraham

Patent number: 10328879Abstract: A system for airbag deployment within a vehicle may include an airbag, a bumper beam, at least one sensor, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The bumper beam may include a left crush can and a right crush can. The left crush can and the right crush can may each include a first zone associated with a first stiffness in a vehicle longitudinal direction and a second zone associated with a second stiffness in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The sensor may receive one or more signals associated with an impact on the vehicle. The ECU may deploy the airbag at a timing based on one or more characteristics of one or more of the signals and one or more predetermined characteristics associated with the first stiffness of the first zone and the second stiffness of the second zone, thereby providing robust discrimination between a front flat impact mode and an front offset impact mode.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2017Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Siyang Yang, Lando C. Hamlett

Publication number: 20120267882Abstract: The embodiments herein describe a fundamental layout between the inner panel of a door, side sill reinforcement, and uncrushable items within the door of the vehicle. During a side impact collision, a side impact sensor receives a G-signal resulting from the collision. The G-signal must ramp up to a threshold value in order to deploy the side airbag. The fundamental layout between the inner panel of a door, side sill reinforcement, and uncrushable items within the door of the vehicle ensures a more robust G-signal which results in early deployment of the side airbag relative to the movement of the door toward the occupant.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2011Publication date: October 25, 2012Applicant: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Lando Crispin Hamlett, Hajime Ishida, Siyang Yang

Patent number: 8266267Abstract: A network device is capable of recognizing and blocking network attacks associated with packet flows regardless of whether the packet flows are encapsulated within network tunnels. For example, the network device includes a filter module that receives packets associated with a network tunnel from an ingress device to an egress device. The filter module applies heuristics to determine whether the packets encapsulate encrypted data units. If the data units are not encrypted, the filter module extracts the data units and generates temporary packets for use within the network device. An attack detection engine within the device analyzes the temporary packets to detect any network attacks carried by the encapsulated data units. A forwarding component selectively forwards the packets to the egress device based on whether any network attacks are detected.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2010Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.Inventors: Kowsik Guruswamy, Siyang Yang
