In one example, a method includes acquiring a first ultrasound image and a second ultrasound image in accordance with a patient exam workflow, wherein the patient exam workflow calls for one or more measurements including a first measurement to be obtained on at least the first ultrasound image, automatically assessing whether the first ultrasound image is suitable for obtaining the first measurement during a time period where the second ultrasound image is being acquired, and if the first ultrasound image is automatically assessed as being unsuitable for obtaining the first measurement, automatically prompting the user, while the second ultrasound image is still being acquired, to reacquire the first ultrasound image.
