  • Publication number: 20040138929
Abstract: Each table in a restaurant has a switch coupled to a wireless transmitter. When the switch is activated, the transmitter broadcasts a vacant table signal. The vacant table signal is received by a receiver that is coupled to a computer system. The computer responds to a vacant table signal by identifying a particular table as being vacant, and therefore ready for seating of a party. The computer is programmed to represent each table in the restaurant with an icon. The computer may be programmed to present a table as being in one of three states: (1) vacant; (2) occupied; and (3) anticipated to be vacant soon. When a party is seated at a particular table, this fact is entered into the computer, and the computer presents the table as occupied. The table is regarded as occupied until one of two events occurs. If the party leaves, the table will be bussed, and thereafter, the switch/transmitter circuit at the table will be activated.

  • Publication number: 20020062912
Abstract: A method of communicating information is provided, wherein the method includes providing a base mat adapted for receiving at least one replaceable sheet, where the base mat has first and second opposing surfaces. The method further includes providing a first replaceable sheet having a base surface and an opposing face surface, wherein the face surface displays indicia. The first replaceable sheet is removably attached to at least a portion of the first surface of the base mat so that the base surface of the sheet faces the first surface of the base mat, where it is displayed for a period of time. When it is desired to change the indicia, the first replaceable sheet is removed, and a second replaceable sheet is provided having a base surface and an opposing face surface, wherein the face surface displays indicia. The second replaceable sheet is removably attached to at least a portion of the first surface of the base mat so that the base surface of the sheet faces the first surface of the base mat.

  • Patent number: 5433953
Abstract: A method for microencapsulating quaternary ammonium salts by interfacial polymerization. The polar component comprises a quaternary ammonium salt, glycerine, triethyleneglycol diamine, a C 4-10 straight or branched aliphatic compound having two primary amine functionalities, and a C 4-10 straight or branched aliphatic compound having at least three primary amine functionalities. The glycerine-immiscible oil component comprises mineral oil, an aliphatic polyisocyanate and a surfactant. The mole equivalent ratios of primary amine to isocyanate in this reaction is about 0.01-3:1. Microcapsules made by this method are unique and provide surprising benefits in durability, elasticity and barrier properties in resistance to leaching of the microcapsule fill material.
