  • Publication number: 20170277714
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for a local networked storage that is linked to a remote networked storage system. In one embodiment, among others, a computing device obtains a request from a client device to read a file stored in a remote networked storage system. The computing device determines whether the file is stored in a local cache. The file is sent to the client device through a local network when the file is stored in the local cache. The computing device obtains the file from the remote networked storage system when the file is not stored in the local cache, where an indication of a user account is provided to the remote networked storage system. The file is sent to the client device in response to the file being obtained from the remote networked storage system.

  • Publication number: 20170275637
Abstract: The Zea mays c.v. B73 Ubiquitin-1 (Z. mays c.v. B73 Ubi-1) promoter drives high levels of constitutive transgene expression in plants. Repeated use of the same Z. mays c.v. B73 Ubi-1 promoter in multi-gene constructs may also lead to gene silencing, thereby making transgenic products less efficacious. Provided are gene regulatory promoter elements, constructs, and methods for expressing a transgene in plant cells and/or plant tissues using gene regulatory elements from the Ubi-1 promoter of a different Zea species, Z. luxurians v2.

Abstract: A method of forming a castless orthotic for a patient's foot in need thereof. The method comprises preparing an orthotic template for the foot wherein the template extends between a heel end and a toe end. In preparing the template the steps of attaching a three-quarter length or full length upper thermoplastic material to a or three-quarter length lower thermoplastic material, or providing a thermoplastic material having a variable thickness such that said thickness decreases from said heel end to said toe end is provided. Then attaching an outer lower layer to the lower thermoplastic material and attaching an outer upper layer to the upper thermoplastic material, or attaching an outer layer to each face of the variable thickness thermoplastic material and heating the prepared orthotic template for a predetermined period of time at a predetermined temperature to soften the orthotic template. A wrap is then placed on top of the foot foam and the foot of the patient is placed on top of the wrap and foot foam.

  • Publication number: 20170273247
Abstract: Monitoring current draw of an actuator associated with a rotating arm on a round baler during a net wrapping cycle is used to determine the position of the rotating arm and actuator, as well as to determine the net tension. The current draw of the actuator may be correlated with the home and insert positions of the rotating arm during the net wrapping cycle; thus by monitoring the current draw, the rotating arm and actuator position is determined and may be provided to aid an operator. The net tension during the net wrapping cycle is a function of the rotating arm and actuator current. A calculation of net tension is determined and provided to an operator, allowing the operator to verify performance issues related to the net tension.

Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve may include a stent body with a plurality of cells arranged in circumferential rows and a cuff attached to the stent. A leaflet attachment panel may be attached to and span a portion of one of the cells. A prosthetic valve element, such as a leaflet having a belly, may be mounted to the leaflet attachment panel. The leaflet attachment panel may not be integral with the stent body. A reduced overlap area may be defined between a proximal end of the stent body and a proximalmost point of attachment of the leaflet belly to the cuff. The reduced overlap area may have a size dependent upon the circumferential row of cells the leaflet attachment panel is attached to and a position of the portion of the leaflet attachment panel to which the leaflet is mounted. Alternately, the leaflet may be attached directly to the stent.

Abstract: A method of estimating non-linearity in a response of an optical detector comprises emitting optical radiation at different intensities. The method includes, at each intensity: amplitude modulating the emitted optical radiation at a modulating frequency to produce amplitude modulated optical radiation; detecting the amplitude modulated optical radiation with the optical detector to produce a detected waveform; and generating a Fourier transform of the detected waveform that includes a fundamental frequency equal to the modulating frequency and harmonics thereof. The method further includes estimating the non-linearity in the response of the optical detector based on a change in an amplitude of a second harmonic of the fundamental frequency relative to an amplitude of the fundamental frequency across the Fourier transforms corresponding to the different intensities.

  • Publication number: 20170277648
Abstract: An interface emulator for an IC is disclosed. An interface emulator includes a first first-in, first-out memory (FIFO) and a second FIFO. The first FIFO is coupled to receive data from an access port and a second FIFO coupled to receive data from at least one functional unit in the IC. The access port may be coupled to a device that is external to the IC. The external device may write information into the first FIFO, and this information may subsequently be read by a functional unit in the IC. Similarly, the functional unit may write information into the second FIFO, with the external device subsequently reading the information. Information may be written into the FIFOs in accordance with a predefined protocol. Thus, a particular type of interface may be emulated even though the physical connection and supporting circuitry for that interface is not otherwise implemented in the IC.
