  • Publication number: 20170268643
Abstract: This invention relates to an end cap return for a ball screw. The end cap uses tangential force from the sidewalls of the ball passage to roll the ball bearings sideways out of the leadscrew raceway rather than the typical protruding finger that picks the balls up directly. The end cap allows it to be advantageously fabricated with using additive manufacturing, making the end cap cost effective for use in custom ball screw assemblies. In some embodiments, the end cap may include an insert for certain portions of the end cap that can be easily and inexpensively replaced should the insert become worn.

  • Publication number: 20170271738
Abstract: A board to board contactless interconnect system includes a first circuit board for launching at st one microwave signal into a cavity of a first waveguide secured thereto. A second waveguide, secured to a second circuit board, is coupleable to the first waveguide to receive the at least one microwave signal in a cavity of the second waveguide and conduct the at least one microwave signal onto a microwave receiver aligned with the cavity on the second circuit board. The waveguides may be separable and may include additional waveguides. Conductive gaskets with apertures for microwave signals to pass through are positioned between the waveguides and between each circuit board and a waveguide to prevent leakage of microwave energy therebetween. Some embodiments may pass signals through a sealed boundary and maintain integrity of the seal. Such embodiments may have a third waveguide interposed between the first and second waveguides.

  • Publication number: 20170265371
Abstract: The disclosed invention describes a device and means for removing weeds and the like from the ground. The device is a simply attachment for a drill. The device comprises a body with a shaft protruding from the center and at least two prongs protruding from the opposite side of the body at distances equidistant from the center. The free end of the shaft is placed into a drill and the prongs are forced into the ground so that they are placed around a weed. The user operates the drill, spinning the prongs around the weed. The prongs entangle the weeds roots and bore a small hole in the ground, allowing the user to easily remove the weed. The prongs are then placed into the ground close to the hole and the drill is slowly operated, thus refilling the hole.

  • Patent number: 9766041
Abstract: A device and method for selectively illuminating and designating multiple targets in the air or on the ground simultaneously. The device comprises a light source, a switching array and a ball lens. Light from the light source is routed through the switching array, which can addressably output multiple light beams simultaneously. The light beams from the switching array illuminate the backside of a low F-number ball lens. The ball lens creates highly collimated output beams independently (and simultaneously) from any of the output source points of the switching array. These output beams can be used to simultaneously designate multiple targets. When the target illuminating device includes an optional detector array, light scattered from targets can be refracted by the balls lens to impinge on the detector array. Signals from the detector array representing the received light beams can be used for target imaging.

  • Patent number: 9767462
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, the objective is to give an e-commerce system user control over when a message is sent so that it arrives at a time that is relative to a subscriber's local time zone. This gives users the ability to send messages to subscribers so that they are received by subscribers at a specific time of day in their time zone. For example, localized time zone delivery would send messages so that they are arrive in the inbox of subscriber “A” located in San Diego around 10:00 AM Pacific Time and around 10:00 AM Eastern Time for subscriber “B” who is located in Boston. Furthermore, localized time zone delivery allows system users to assign a time zone preference value to subscribers in their e-commerce system account.
