Abstract: This disclosure relates to providing content (e.g., marketing content) to an individual based on a psychographic profile of an individual. The method includes obtaining a psychographic profile of an individual. The psychographic profile comprises one or more psychographic dimensions associated with the first individual and a psychographic profile group. A psychographic dimension corresponds to at least one of an interest, an attitude, an opinion, a value, a behavior, or an activity of the individual. Content (e.g., marketing content) is received, the content being associated with a psychographic profile group corresponding to the psychographic profile of the individual. The content is provided to the individual based on the associated psychographic profile group of the content and the associated psychographic profile group of the individual.

  • Publication number: 20170228547
Abstract: This disclosure relates to generating shares of secret data represented by secret data elements based on a first threshold for the number of shares that allow determining the secret data. The shares are determined based on the secret data, one or more random data elements added to the secret data and coefficients of a systematic maximum distance separable (MDS) code. The MDS code has a number of input data elements that is equal to the first threshold and that is also equal to the number of secret data elements plus the number of the one or more random data elements. The method of determining shares can be used for different data sets and multiple pairs of the shares can be generated to allow performing an operation between the first secret data with the second secret data based on distributed processing of each of the multiple pairs.

  • Publication number: 20170228804
Abstract: Methods select content to be delivered to a visitor to a real-world venue. One method identifies a visitor to a real-world venue based on tracked physical actions and a profile including previously collected visitor information associated with the venue. The method determines that members of a group are present at the venue with the visitor, where the determining is based at least in part on the previously collected visitor information. Based on determining that the visitor is at the venue with members of the group, content is selected for the visitor. Another method identifies a visitor to a venue as belonging to a group by identifying the visitor based on tracked physical actions and collected visitor information. The tracked actions and visitor information are used to determine whether the visitor is in the venue with members of the group. Tailored content is sent to the visitor based on the determination.

  • Publication number: 20170227463
Abstract: A method of determining an absorption or turbidity coefficient of a liquid involves storing a set of data describing a plurality of droplets or other discrete bodies of liquid of different shapes, sizes and absorption or turbidity coefficients. Each body is captured as a combination of a measurable transmission parameter obtained by modelling the interaction of light with a drop, and of one or more dimensional measurements selected from lengths, areas and volumes. The absorption or turbidity coefficient is indicated also. By measuring the transmission of light through a real body of liquid, and making measurements allowing the droplet to be specified, the absorption or turbidity coefficient associated with a droplet giving rise to the same behaviour in transmitting light can be identified from the data set.

  • Publication number: 20170226822
Abstract: A fracturing tool features spaced releasable packers with an outlet in between. The housing has relatively moving components for opening the frac port between the packers with weight set on the lower packer. Once the frac port is opened the upper packer is set and the pumping begins. The upper packer can be released so that tension can be pulled on the lower packer to close the frac port and open a through passage in the housing. In one embodiment the through passage can be located above the lower packer to a sand jet perforator to clean debris away from the lower packer if it is difficult to release the lower packer or to abrasively perforate through a tubular. In another embodiment the housing outlet can be below bottom packer to perform a treatment further downhole or to operate another tool. The straddle tool can be run in on coiled tubing.

  • Publication number: 20170227581
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to test and measurement instruments structured to detect that a series of events occurred, and structured to generate a trigger signal in response to detecting that a final event in the series of events occurred. The trigger may be generated based on a timeout signal, or based on another event, trigger, or signal. Stored data in the acquisition memory may be marked relative to the detection of the final event. An external forced timeout signal may control which in a series of events is marked as a final event. The triggering on final event may be enabled after another trigger is satisfied, and may be used as one of many different types of triggers.

  • Publication number: 20170229264
Abstract: A switch comprising an interior cavity and a switching element movably disposed within the interior cavity to define a first position and a second position, the second position being different from the first position. A biasing element imparts a biasing force to the switching element to place the switching element in either the first or the second position until an external force imparted to the switching element exceeds the biasing force, thereby causing the switching element to move to the other one of the first or the second position. A biasing force-adjusting element is cooperatively engaged with the biasing element, wherein a magnitude of the biasing force is adjustable using the biasing force-adjusting element. An electrically-conductive contact, coupled to the switching element, defines a first switching state when the switching element is in the first position and a second switching state when the switching element is in the second position.

  • Publication number: 20170229269
Abstract: Circuitry for controlling relay activation timing is described. The circuitry includes voltage zero cross detection circuitry configured to produce a zero cross detection signal indicating a zero cross time of an alternating current (AC) signal. The circuitry also includes current measuring circuitry coupled to voltage zero cross detection circuitry. The current measuring circuitry is configured to produce a current flow detection signal indicating a current flow start time of the AC signal. The circuitry further includes relay circuitry coupled to the current measuring circuitry. The circuitry additionally includes a processor coupled to the voltage zero cross detection circuitry, to the current measuring circuitry, and to the relay circuitry. The processor is configured to determine a relay time error based on the zero cross time and the current flow start time. The processor is also configured to control relay activation signal timing to reduce the relay time error.

  • Publication number: 20170230119
Abstract: A circuit and method for mitigating multi-path interference in direct detection optical systems is provided. Samples of an optical signal having a pulse amplitude modulated (PAM) E-field are processed by generating a PAM level for each sample. For each sample, the sample is subtracted from the respective PAM level to generate a corresponding error sample. The error samples are lowpass filtered to produce estimates of multi-path interference (MPI). For each sample, one of the estimates of MPI is combined with the sample to produce an interference-mitigated sample.

  • Patent number: 9729714
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus for initiating and handling an emergency IP request using an IP enabled device having GPS capability. The IP enabled device is monitored for one or more emergency criteria. If the emergency criteria are satisfied, global positioning data is obtained using the GPS capability and the emergency IP request is sent to an address server. The address server receives the emergency IP request, obtains local emergency services data based on the global positioning data, dials a call center station based on the local emergency services data and passes an emergency call from the IP enabled device to the call center station. This invention can be implemented as a computer program embedded in a computer readable medium wherein the steps are performed by one or more code segments.
