  • Publication number: 20040242033
Abstract: A contact (10) for insertion into a hole (21) of a circuit board (20) comprises a top section (11), a pin-like section (13), and a compliant section (12) connecting the top section and the pin-like section. The compliant section is inserted into the hole of the circuit, and comprises a pair of beams (120,121). The compliant section defines a lognitudinal axis (126), a pair of slots (122) therethrough extending along the axis, and a rib (123). The beams surround the slots and the rib. The rib is located between the beams and extends along the axis. The rib reinforces a structure of the compliant section, result in that pin-like section remain straight in assembly or after use.

  • Publication number: 20040203293
Abstract: The electrical contact (1) comprises a retention portion (11), a mating portion (12) extending upwardly from the retention portion, and a tail portion (13) extending downwardly from the retention portion. The retention portion comprises two opposite main surfaces (110), and two opposite side surfaces (111) adjoining between the main surfaces. Each main surface defines an elongate support member (1101) at a center thereof. A pair of parallel, symmetric elongate first recesses (1102) is defined at opposite sides respectively of each support member. An elongate recess (1110) is defined in each side surface, the recesses enhancing a resiliency of the electrical contact.

  • Patent number: 6334783
Abstract: An electrical connector (1) comprises an insulated housing (2), a number of terminals (3) received in a number of passageways (21) of the insulated housing (2) and a separate spacer (4) which attaches to the housing. The spacer defines a number of through holes (45) each having a configuration of “T” consisted by a wide portion (451) and a narrow portion (453) and corresponding with the passageway. A recess (455) is defined on a bottom of the narrow portion which is far from the wide portion of each through hole and the recess does not run through the spacer. The terminals each are received in the passageway with a pair of shoulders extending from both sides of the connecting portion of the terminal. The shoulders are finally plunged in the recesses to make sure that the terminals will be received in the passageways of the housing without a sliding movement relative to the housing.
