  • Publication number: 20230105755
Abstract: A temporary damper assembly for use during vertical storage and/or vertical transport of a tower: includes a liquid damper tuned to the natural frequency of vibration of the tower; a tower cover realized to cover an annular upper opening of the tower during storage and/or transport; a mounting interface configured to suspend the liquid damper from the annular upper opening of the tower; and a load transfer interface for the transfer of loads between the liquid damper and the tower. A method of suppressing vortex-induced vibration in a tower during vertical storage and/or vertical transport of the tower is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9132590
Abstract: A method of molding a wind-turbine blade in a mold is described. The method includes arranging a number of markers on an interior of the mold; arranging a composite layup in the mold; and assembling and curing the composite layup in the mold such that a negative impression of a marker is formed on a surface of the composite layup, which negative impression facilitates correct positioning of the blade relative to a component in a subsequent assembly step. A mold for molding a wind-turbine blade; a wind-turbine blade molded using such a mold; and a positioning device for positioning a drilling and/or milling tool relative to a root portion of a wind-turbine blade molded using the inventive method are disclosed. A method of manufacturing a wind-turbine blade is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8139206
Abstract: A method and an arrangement are provided to determine the speed of the wind, which acts on a wind-blade of a wind-turbine. An optical-signal with a known frequency is sent from an optical-transmit-unit to a joint measurement volume. The optical-signal is scattered and reflected by atmospheric particles of the joint measurement volume. The optical signal is shifted in its frequency due to the Doppler-principle, too. The frequency-shifted optical signal is received by a receive-unit. The frequency-shifted optical signal is compared with the sent optical-signal to determine the wind-speed based on the shifted frequency, which is caused by the atmospheric particles.

  • Publication number: 20110217168
Abstract: A method of attaching a load sensor comprising a support with a number of strain gauges on a surface of a rotor blade is proposed. The method comprises the steps of producing a set of holes with a predefined distance between the holes. Threaded inserts are provided in the holes. Bolts are inserted through the load sensor into the threaded inserts. A rotor blade with a load sensor is also proposed.
