  • Publication number: 20200280852
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses disclosed enable wearable device (e.g., smartwatch) user access to secured electronic systems based on at least one of user authentication for access to secured electronic system by the wearable device, user biometric authentication by a wireless carrier, user biometric authentication by remote server, user location, and user proximity to a secured electronic system. A wearable device can include a telecommunications carrier identification module (e.g., SIM), cellular RF communications, and short-range RF communications. A registration module can register secure electronic systems, authenticate a wearable device user, and grant the wearable device user with access to secured electronic systems if the wearable device user is authenticated by at least one of the wearable device, the registration module, a carrier network, a remote server, and the secured electronic system. Authentication can include biometric measurement facilitated by the wearable device.

  • Publication number: 20180247031
Abstract: System and methods for obtaining digital multimedia files from a server based on optically scanned digital rights management information tag imprinted on physical media is described. A greeting card or gift card can be provided with indicia containing a code printed thereon. Then the code can be optically scanned by client device. The code can then be provided by the client device to a remote server for retrieval of multimedia files identified by the code if the code authorizes multimedia file retrieval from the remote server by the client device. Then the client device retrieves multimedia files identified by the code from the remote server following authorization of multimedia file retrieval by the remote server based on the code.

  • Publication number: 20160249096
Abstract: Video data rendering devices (e.g., flat panel displays such as Smart TVs, set top boxes, and media dongles) can wirelessly broadcast their identity for discovery to portable wireless electronic devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets) interested in obtaining audio and other data associated with video programming displayed on the video data rendering devices. An application can be downloaded and activated on portable devices that will enable them to obtain a list of available (discovered) video data rendering devices (multiple screens, depending on venue) and allow wireless access to audio and data associated with displayed video programming. A video data rendering device of interest can be selected by the portable device and it can access data in addition to audio (either directly from the flat panel or from a remote server once the video data rendering device or the data has been identified) and/or engage in an interactive session.
