  • Patent number: 11968588
Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed by a network node, in a radio access network, RAN, that is a target node candidate for a mobility operation of a user equipment, UE. Such methods include receiving, from a source node serving the UE, a request to prepare a mobility procedure for the UE in relation to a candidate target cell associated with the network node. The request can include characteristics associated with a data connection of the UE. Such methods include determining that the UE can be admitted for the requested mobility procedure based on the characteristics, and determining to activate bicasting of the data connection. Different bicasting modes can be selected. Such methods also include transmitting, to the source node, a response that includes a bicasting configuration associated with the UE. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by source nodes, as well as network nodes configured to perform such methods.

  • Publication number: 20230232298
Abstract: A network node (1700) configured to operate as a source network node (32) of a reconfiguration procedure transmits signaling to a target network node (34) of the reconfiguration procedure. The signaling indicates (i) whether or not the target network node (34) is to provide feedback information (44) to the source network node (32) and/or (ii) which one or more types of feedback information (44) the target network node (34) is to provide to the source network node (32). Based on the received feedback information (44), the network node may train a model to predict predicted information, predict the predicted information using the model, and make a decision based on the predicted information.

  • Patent number: 11683731
Abstract: A method, performed by a network node. The method is for handling a switch of a wireless device from a source to a target link. The network node and the device operate in a wireless communications network. Given a configuration of the target link indicating resources to perform random access to the network node during the switch, the network node, transmits, prior to the switch, an indication to the device. The indication indicates an update to the configuration. The network node changes the configuration of the target link, based on the update. The changing is performed only after receiving a confirmation of at least one of: i) from the device, that the device has received the indication, and ii) from a first network node operating in the wireless communications network, that it has transmitted the indication to the device.

  • Publication number: 20220038975
Abstract: Methods performed by a first node in a radio access network (RAN) for mobility of a user equipment (UE) served by a second node in the RAN. Such methods include receiving (1310), from the second node, a request for a mobility procedure for the UE towards at least one candidate target cell associated with the first node. Such methods include determining (1320) if the UE can be accepted for the requested mobility procedure and, if so, allocating resources to support mobility of the UE. Such methods include transmitting (1330), to the second node, a response that includes a configuration for the mobility procedure and indicates the UE can be accepted unless a cancelling message is subsequently received from the second node. Such methods include determining (1350) that the configuration is no longer valid, and transmitting (1360), to the second node, an indication that the configuration is no longer valid.

  • Publication number: 20210321306
Abstract: A first network node transmits, to a wireless device, a first indication. The first indication indicates to select, out of a plurality of target links simultaneously fulfilling a respective condition to switch from a source link to a target link, a first target link to switch from the source link to the selected first target link. The selecting is based on at least one of: a Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) value, a Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) value, a Signal to Interference and noise ratio (SINR) value, a priority, Random Access Channel (RACH) resources, a cell in which latest measurements were made, or a frequency, of the respective target links in the plurality of target links. The first network node then handles the link switch from the source link to the target link, based on the transmitted first indication.
