Abstract: A data capture and management system for providing an absorbent article, such as a diaper, a sanitary towel, an incontinence garment, a medical dressing and the like, with sensing and/or data logging capabilities is provided. The system includes a data logger configured to be detachably attached to or located in the vicinity of an absorbent article, a data link between the data logger and a data collection hub, and a user interface for permitting an operator to access the data collection hub from a remote location. For ease of identification, each data logger is provided with a user-friendly identifier, and the data collection hub includes a correlator that correlates the user-friendly identifier of the data logger with an IMEI number or other unique device identifier of that data logger. A method of capturing and managing incontinence data using the above system is also provided.

Abstract: A receptacle is provided for connecting an electronics enclosure to an absorbent article having at least one sensor element. The receptacle includes: a base frame having a base surface; an enclosure retainer for retaining the enclosure relative to the base surface at an engagement position; and at least one contact support surface, oriented toward the engagement position, arranged to be displaceable away from the engagement position relative to the base surface and biased to protrude from the base surface toward the engagement position. An absorbent article and method of manufacture thereof and an absorbent article management system using the receptacle are also provided.

Abstract: An electronics enclosure has terminal conductors for contacting corresponding conductors in a receptacle when engaged with the receptacle. The electronics enclosure has a housing having first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth surface portions arranged to define the exterior of the housing. The receptacle engages and retains the corresponding electronics enclosure, the receptacle having terminal conductors for contacting corresponding conductors in the enclosure when engaged with the enclosure. The receptacle has a base surface along which the enclosure can translate in an engagement direction to engage the enclosure with the receptacle.

Abstract: The invention relates to a disposable article having a longitudinal direction, a longitudinal center line and a transverse direction, wherein the article has a first and a second longitudinal edge, a first and a second transverse edge, wherein the article comprises a first covering layer comprising a first surface intended to face towards the user and a second surface intended to face away from the user in use, wherein at least a first and a second fixing member comprising hook elements are arranged on the first surface close to the first transverse edge, wherein the first fixing member is arranged close to the first longitudinal edge and the second fixing member is arranged close to the second longitudinal edge, wherein substantial parts of the first surface are compatible with the hook elements.

A printed tag is arranged on the inner wearer facing side of the chassis in at least one of the front portion, back portion, and the waistband. The tag has at least one first area which is fixedly attached to the chassis and at least one second area which is unattached. The first fixedly attached area covers an area of at least 5% of the total area of the tag and the second unattached area has a length extending along a side edge of the tag of at least 5 mm and a width of at least 1 mm. The tag as described makes it easier to differentiate between the front and back of the article.

An elongated elastic element is pre-stretched along the rear part of the leg edge of each leg opening.
