Patent number: 8305171Abstract: A rotary switch includes an operating member, a magnet member, and a magnetic sensor. The operating member is operable from outside of a case to move to first and second positions in an axial direction and is rotatable. The magnet member is provided in such a manner that the magnet member does not move in the axial direction of the operating member. The magnetic sensor detects rotation of the magnet member. An engaging section is formed in a predetermined area of the operating member, and an engaging hole to receive the engaging section is formed in the magnet member. When the operating member is moved in the axial direction, the engaging section moves inside the engaging hole with the engaging section being engaged with the engaging hole, and when the operating member is rotated, the magnet member rotates therewith.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2009Date of Patent: November 6, 2012Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventors: Soh Kimura, Syuuichi Machida

Patent number: 8040287Abstract: A radio wave receiving device includes at least one magnetic drive unit and an antenna structure having a narrow core formed of magnetic material and a coil wound around the central part of the core. The device further includes two external magnetic members, each having a connecting part connected magnetically to one end part of the core. One magnetic member has a magnetism collecting part expanded in one side of the antenna structure from the connecting part to exclude the antenna structure, and the other magnetic member has a magnetism collecting part expanded in the other side of the antenna structure from the connecting part to exclude the antenna structure. These external magnetic members cover the drive unit in the both sides and shut off magnetic flux of external magnetic field from the both sides and collect magnetic flux of radio wave on the one end part of the core.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2009Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventor: Soh Kimura

Patent number: 7777680Abstract: In an antenna device of a wristwatch, a pair of external magnetic members each attached to a respective one of both ends of a magnetic core effectively collects the magnetic flux of a standard time and frequency signal. The collected magnetic flux passes through the core around which a coil is wound, thereby inducing an electromotive force and hence improving the reception accuracy of the signal. The pair of external magnetic members screens out undesirable external magnetism which would otherwise influence motors that drive a hand shaft and hands, thereby achieving accurate hand driving and improving the high watch accuracy.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2007Date of Patent: August 17, 2010Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuaki Abe, Kaoru Someya, Soh Kimura
