  • Publication number: 20240123199
Abstract: A balloon body for a catheter includes a balloon and a plurality of hard members. The balloon includes a plurality of rigid portions has at least a joining portion provided with each of the plurality of hard members. The plurality of flexible portions is arranged between the plurality of rigid portions in a circumferential direction. In a cross section, at least a portion of each portion protruding outward with respect to the balloon, of the plurality of hard members provided on the balloon in the deflated state, is arranged in a virtual closed region. The virtual closed region is formed when an end portion in the circumferential direction of each of the plurality of rigid portions is joined to an end portion in the circumferential direction of another rigid portion adjacent in the circumferential direction.

  • Publication number: 20210077790
Abstract: A balloon catheter includes a balloon/shaft assembly and a linear member. The balloon/shaft assembly includes a catheter shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end and a balloon connected to the catheter shaft. The linear member straddles an inflatable region of the balloon and is mounted on the balloon/shaft assembly. The linear member includes a hard portion and a flexible portion. The hard portion includes at least an outer portion disposed on an opposite side to an inner portion facing the inflatable region, of a portion disposed along an outer peripheral surface of the inflatable region in an inflated state. The flexible portion is a portion other than the hard portion. The flexible portion is extendable and has a lower hardness than the hard portion.

  • Patent number: 10842971
Abstract: A balloon catheter includes an outer shaft, an inner shaft, and an inflatable balloon. The inner shaft is inserted inside the outer shaft. A part of the inner shaft extends beyond a leading end of the outer shaft. The inflatable balloon includes a base end side joint portion and a leading end side joint portion, the base end side joint portion is joined to the outer shaft and the leading end side joint portion is joined to the inner shaft. The inner shaft has an extension portion configured to extend in an axial line direction. The extension portion is located closer to the base end side of the outer shaft than to the leading end side joint portion of the inflatable balloon.

  • Publication number: 20160121081
Abstract: A guide wire port is formed in a midway position, in an axial line direction, of an outer shaft. A core wire extending across the guide wire port is provided in an outer tube hole of the outer shaft. The core wire has a leading end side area positioned further to a leading end side than the guide wire port and a tapered area provided on a base end side of the leading end side area. The tapered area has a first tapered area including a same position as the guide wire port in the axial line direction and a second tapered area provided continuously from a base end side of the first tapered area. A rate of increase of a transverse cross-sectional area from the leading end side toward the base end side is larger in the first tapered area than in the second tapered area.
