Abstract: A plasma display device including improved electromagnetic shielding and improved impact resistance is disclosed. An embodiment of the plasma display device includes a plasma display module, and front and rear covers disposed over the front and rear sides of the plasma display module, respectively. The plasma display module comprises a plasma display panel, a chassis base mounted to a rear of the plasma display panel and supporting the same, a main shielding portion disposed on a front of the plasma display panel, and a tempered glass panel dimensioned and configured to cover an opening provided on the front cover such that at least a portion of an image formed on the plasma display panel is viewable therethrough. The main shielding portion is a filter such as a film formed from an electromagnetic shielding material.

Abstract: A display device which has a simplified assembly process and minimized product damage. The display device includes a display panel; a chassis base having a first surface for supporting and for fixing the display panel thereto; a circuit board fixed to a second surface of the chassis base, the circuit board having circuit elements for driving the display panel; and at least one main fastening unit for fixing the circuit board to the chassis base such that a gap is formed between the circuit board and the chassis base. The main fastening unit includes a main body, fasteners, and first and second protrusions to form engaged portions. The display device may be a plasma display device.

The heat dissipation structure is capable of preventing electromagnetic waves generated during the operation of the display panel operation from adversely influencing a driving circuit. The heat dissipation structure comprises: a display panel; a heat dissipating sheet contacting a rear surface of the display panel; and a chassis base disposed on a rear side of the heat dissipating sheet and connected to the display panel via a double-sided adhesive element. The heat dissipating sheet includes two heat dissipating layers and a metal sheet layer interposed between the two heat dissipating layers.

Abstract: A corner reinforcing member, which reinforces a corner portion of a chassis base, and a display module having the reinforcing member are disclosed. In one embodiment, the corner reinforcing member is manufactured by sheet metal working to withstand bending and twisting forces. Also, the corner reinforcing member facilitates the coupling of various designs of display sets to display modules and provides a configuration on which parts can be easily mounted for coupling. Furthermore, the corner reinforcing member can reduce manufacturing costs by reducing the number of parts for coupling. In one embodiment, the corner reinforcing member includes a reinforcing unit that comes into contact with a surface of a chassis base, and a connection unit formed parallel to a bending portion formed on an edge of a chassis base and connected to the reinforcing unit.

Abstract: A plasma display assembly having increased structural rigidity without using a reinforcing member is disclosed. The plasma display assembly includes a PDP, a chassis base and at least one or more circuit boards so as to provide the electromechanical structures to produce an image. The chassis base supporting the PDP at a rear side thereof includes a base part and at least one extended bent part. The base part is formed substantially parallel to the PDP. The extended bent part is formed in at least one of upper, lower, left and right edges of the base part, and includes a first bent part bent with respect to the base part to extend rearwardly, a second bent part bent with respect to the first bent part to extend in a direction parallel to the chassis base, and a third bent part bent with respect to the second bent part to extend forwardly. The circuit boards are arranged to be connected to at the rear side of the chassis base and drive the PDP during operation.

During operation, the display panel produces an image.
