Abstract: Hair grooming devices designed for detangling hair that has been styled into plats, braids, dreadlocks or cornrows and methods for using these devices are provided by the present invention. The device includes a handle portion and a tapered parting member extending longitudinally and transversely from a first end of the handle portion wherein the parting member has at least one transverse tooth extending from the end portion of the parting member. Depending on the requirements of the user, a single tooth or a plurality of teeth are provided in various embodiments of the present device and certain embodiments can be used to apply various hair styling fluids to the hair.
