    Abstract: The teachings provided herein disclose a method for corner sharpening in the display of a bitmapped digital image. The method includes the steps of selecting a target pixel location within the digital image; observing a set of pixels within a pixel observation window superimposed on the digital image relative to the target pixel location; generating edge-state codes for a plurality of pairs of neighboring vectors of pixels within the pixel observation window; generating corner-identification codes from the plurality of edge-state codes using at least one look-up table so as to thereby identify corner pixels; and, assigning a pixel value in an output image plane in a location corresponding to the target pixel in the input image, such that assigned value extends a corner where indicated by a corner identification code, thereby producing a sharpening effect. The method may be used for improving the print quality of line-art corners and other fine details as found in both font and image data.

Each modified conventional deck has all seven, eight, nine, and ten cards removed therefrom. Thus, each modified conventional deck comprises only 36 cards. The card game is played according to either a red winning scheme wherein only the cards in the red suit are counted and totalled or a black winning scheme wherein only the cards in the black suit are counted and totalled. The banker may arbitrarily choose either winning scheme, the chosen winning scheme being, commom to all the players and banker After the winning scheme is determined, the first round of three cards is dealt face down to all players (betting players and banker). After all players have received their three cards, the players total the value of the cards in their hands that only belong to the chosen suit winning scheme. The cards belonging to the suit not chosen are not counted and are not totalled.

According to the method of the present invention, each player places a wager, and the house dealer deals four cards for each of the players. All of the sets of four cards are placed on the table in a row, and the house dealer assigns the position of banker to one of the players. The banker then picks one of the eight hands, and rolls a set of dice to determine which of the remaining players should receive that hand of four cards. The remaining hands are assigned to the remaining players in an orderly fashion.

The method uses a card deck of 480 cards which consists of 12 modified conventional decks. Each modified conventional deck has an additional four joker cards and has all 7, 8, 9, and 10 cards removed therefrom. According to the method of the present invention, each of the plurality of players places a wager. A first player is assigned the title of banker and is provided three dice. The banker rolls the three dice to determine the assignment of an action button to a second player. The assignment of the action button to the second player is determined from the number indicated by the rolled dice. The first round of two cards is dealt one face up and one face down to the banker, and two face down to the other players in rotation. After all players have received their two cards, the players inspect their hands (consisting of the two hands) and determine whether additional cards are desired.
