  • Patent number: 11926282
Abstract: Systems and methods for random vehicle movement to prevent theft are disclosed. The vehicle system may automatically reposition to make it seem like the user is home and to reduce battery drain and flat spots on the tire. The system may randomize the start time based on the preferences of the user. At the randomly decided time, the vehicle may start up on its own and reposition itself. In addition, the system may learn a driving behavior pattern of the vehicle via machine learning based on driving behavior associated with the vehicle, such that the vehicle may perform vehicle movement based on the learned driving behavior pattern.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 12, 2024
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Matthew Castaldini, Naman Kohli, Vidhya Iyer, Shounak Athavale, Sonal Doomra
  • Patent number: 11882500
Abstract: The disclosure provides systems and methods for tracking luggage. Luggage is tracked by associating the luggage with a user account during a loading action and during an unloading action. The system further includes systems and methods for retrieving lost luggage.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 23, 2024
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Romil Shah, Sakthi Narayanan Balasubramanian, Anuja Anil Shirsat, Sonal Doomra, Shounak Athavale
  • Patent number: 11636688
Abstract: A first image is obtained prior to a second image. Upon dividing the second image into a plurality of zones, light characteristic values for each of the plurality of zones are determined based on at least one of a brightness value, a contrast value, and an intensity value for the respective zones. A first difference score for one of the zones is determined based on a difference between corresponding light characteristic values for the one zone in the first and second images. Upon identifying an object in the one zone of the first and second images, a second difference score for the one zone is determined based on determining a difference between respective confidence scores associated with the corresponding identified objects. Upon determining at least one of the first or second difference score is greater than a respective threshold, the vehicle is operated based on the first image.

  • Patent number: 11288889
Abstract: A computer includes a processor and a memory, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to determine a first bounding box for a road sign in an image, identify a second bounding box for a physical member, the second bounding box for the physical member extending from the first bounding box for the road sign, and upon identifying the second bounding box for the physical member, actuate one or more vehicle components.
