Abstract: An air conditioner and a method for controlling an air conditioner are provided. The air conditioner may include at least one indoor device, an outdoor device connected to the at least one indoor device, the outdoor device including a compressor that compresses a refrigerant, an engine generating a power using a combustion gas to operate the compressor, a generator that generates electricity using the power generated in the engine, a battery that receives at least a portion of the electricity generated in the generator, a first supply line that supplies the electricity stored in the battery into the outdoor device, and a second supply line that supplies the electricity stored in the battery into the at least one indoor device. The battery is charged by the generator, or the electricity stored in the battery is discharged into the at least one indoor device or the outdoor device according to operation performance of each of the at least one indoor device and the outdoor device.

The air conditioner includes an indoor unit, a first outdoor unit including a first outdoor heat exchanger and a first compressor to be driven by electricity, a second outdoor unit including a second outdoor heat exchanger and a second compressor to be driven by an engine, a cooling water line, through which cooling water to cool the engine flows, and at least one waste heat-recovering heat exchanger for exchanging heat between refrigerant to be introduced into at least one of the first outdoor heat exchanger and the second outdoor heat exchanger and the cooling water flowing through the cooling water line. By provision of the waste heat-recovering heat exchanger, which heat-exchanges hot cooling water with refrigerant flowing through the first and second outdoor heat exchangers, frost formed on the first and second outdoor units during low-temperature heating is removed.

Since the compound of the present invention selectively inhibits the activity of 11?-HSD1 (11?-Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1), the compound of the invention can be effectively used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of diseases caused by the over-activation of 11?-HSD1 such as non-insulin dependent type II diabetes, insulin resistance, obesity, lipid disorder, metabolic syndrome, and other diseases or condition mediated by the excessive activity of glucocorticoid.

Abstract: Provided herein include compositions, all related stereoisomers as well as pharmaceutically acceptable salts provided as simplified analogs of pateamine A, in which the analogs generally are devoid of the C3-amino and C5-methyl groups, also referred to as desmethyl, desamino-pateamine A. Suitable analogs provide anticancer and antiproliferative effects in vivo and in vitro by a novel drugs mechanism of action described herein for pateamine A, including inhibition of eIF4A-dependent translation initiation. As with pateamine A, as described herein, suitable analogs cause cell cycle arrest or induce apoptosis in transformed cells. However, toxicity of such compounds to slow growing normal cells is low. In addition, such analogs, like pateamine A, target translation initiation factors and are useful as anticancer and antiproliferative agents in subjects in need thereof.

The contact area of the carbon nanotube heating elements and the heat transfer part is 50% or more of the contact area of the heat transfer part and the fluid. Therefore, it is possible to more efficiently heat the fluid.
