Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a main body, a cover unit having a display such as an LCD, and a detecting mechanism for detecting the opening and closing of the cover unit in relation to the main body. The detecting mechanism includes a cam mounted coaxially to and rotating together with a pivot shaft that can rotate together with the cover unit, and a detecting switch mounted to the main body and directly or indirectly actuated by the action of the cam as the cover unit opens and closes to detect the opening and closing of the cover unit.

Abstract: An information-processing device includes a main body part having an accommodating part, a display part and a removable unit that is detachably attached to the accommodating part. The removable unit has latch detents receivable in latch receiving parts provided on the accommodating part. The information-processing device further includes guide grooves provided on one of the accommodating part and the removable unit and guide rails provided on the other one of the accommodating part and the removable unit. The latch receiving parts are formed on one of the guide grooves and the guide rails and have a height that is substantially equal to a height of the guide rails or a depth of the guide grooves.

Abstract: The electronic equipment according to the present invention is adapted to be operated by an operator in facing positional relationship therewith. This electronic equipment includes a housing accommodating an electronic circuit for operation and a high-frequency circuit for wireless communication related to the operation, and a dielectric antenna connected to the high-frequency circuit. The dielectric antenna is mounted on the rear surface of the housing near a lateral end thereof. Since the electronic circuit for operation and the high-frequency circuit for wireless communication are provided in the housing, it is not necessary to connect a personal computer and a mobile telephone by a cable according to predetermined specifications as in the prior art, so that it is possible to provide electronic equipment which can be easily used as a mobile terminal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a structure for fixing an element to a printed wiring board. The fixing structure includes a spacer, the printed wiring board, and a sealant. The spacer has a first end to which the element is to be fixed and a second end to be fixed to the printed wiring board. The printed wiring board has a hole having a shape determined in relation to the shape of the second end of the spacer. The sealant is filled in the hole of the printed wiring board to fix the second end of the spacer to the printed wiring board. The second end of the spacer has a projection having a length smaller than the thickness of the printed wiring board and located in the hole of the printed wiring board.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus which includes a first member (for example, a cover having a display unit thereon), a second member (for example, an apparatus body having a keyboard thereon), and a connection unit. The first member has a first face (for example, a face on which the display unit is provided) and a second face (for example, an outer face of the cover). The connection unit connects the first and second members to each other such that the first and second members are displaceable relative to each other between a first condition wherein the first face opposes the second member and a second condition wherein the second face opposes the second member. The first member has a hook member provided thereon such that the hook member can selectively project from one of the first and second faces. The second member has a hole for being engaged by the hook member.

Abstract: An information processing device suitable for portable use. The information processing device includes a first member (e.g., a cover having a display unit), a second member (e.g., a body having a keyboard unit), a connecting member for connecting the first and second members so that these members can be relatively displaced, and a switch mechanism provided in the second member. The second member has an engaging portion (e.g., a hole), and the first member includes a hook member to be engaged with the engaging portion. The switch mechanism functions to switch on and off a signal in synchronism with movement of the hook member. According to the structure having such switch mechanism, it can be possible to provide a device which can prevent an improper switching operation.
