Abstract: An image forming apparatus and a method to control the same. The image forming apparatus determines whether the object to be printed is real money. If the object is real money, the image forming apparatus prints a variety of counterfeit money discrimination information (e.g., the counterfeit money preventing pattern, the warning message, or the unique number of the image forming apparatus used for printing the money) on the back side of the copy of the money, and prints the original image of the money on the front side of the copy of the money without any change. Therefore, the image forming apparatus can color-print the original image of the money without any change, and can prevent the copied money from being used as counterfeit money.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus and a method of controlling the image forming apparatus. When print data is printed, the remaining amount of toner of each of the CMYK colors is analyzed. When print data is printed, the apparatus analyzes an original color of the print data and analyzes respective remaining amounts of toner of a plurality of colors. If the remaining amount of toner of any of the plurality of colors is insufficient, the apparatus generates a plurality of corrected sample images having colors similar to the original color, the similar colors being obtained by combining colors of toner other than that of the insufficient remaining amount of toner, and prints a report including the generated plurality of corrected sample images. This allows the user to print their preferred colors even if the remaining amount of toner of any color is insufficient, thereby increasing convenience and economic efficiency.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a scan unit, a handwriting determining unit, a corresponding image detection unit, a storage unit, a print unit and a controller. In an extraction copy mode, the image formation apparatus scans an original document and detects handwriting marks of a user, extracts original document images of portions of the original document identified by handwriting marks from the scanned images, and stores and prints the original document images. Therefore, a user who only wants to copy portions of a document does not have to cut up and re-paste the document. In a clean copy mode, the image forming apparatus scans the original document to provide scanned images, detects the handwriting marks of the user in the scanned images, extracts clean original document images from which the handwriting marks are removed, and stores and prints the clean original document images.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus, a bogus note managing system including the same, and a bogus note managing method that are capable of accurately and efficiently managing a bogus note such that the bogus note cannot be used for a bad purpose, the image forming apparatus including: a read unit to determine whether an object to be read is money; a storage unit to store money registration information including identification information of the money; a comparison unit to compare money identification information, which is received so as to identify the money, with the identification information stored in the storage unit when the object to be read is the money; and a control unit to control history information of the money to be stored in the storage unit when the money identification information is identical to the identification information.

Abstract: A user interface display device and method are provided. The apparatus includes a process history storage unit for storing path information of a displayed user interface window, a user interface unit for displaying one or more second user interface windows, and a control unit for outputting a multiple-up instruction signal instructing the user interface unit to display a user interface window corresponding to the stored path information. The first user interface window is a current user interface window, and the second user interface windows are previously displayed user interface windows at a higher level than the first user interface window. Therefore, it is possible for a user to visualize the path of the user interface windows switched through to reach the current user interface window. Further, complicated keystrokes for switching from the lower level user interface window to the user interface window desired by the user are not required.

Abstract: An image forming device and a user terminal device for providing guide information and a method of providing guide information thereof are provided, where metadata of image data to print is analyzed, guide information for a certain printing option based on the analyzed metadata is generated, and the guide information to the image data is applied and the image data is printed. Accordingly, a printing option can be obtained to print the image data from the image forming device and the user terminal device.
