The method includes: acquiring an application message providing the IPTV communication service from an external input with respect to a general-purpose web application by using plug-in application programming interfaces (APIs) of a web browser which are independent of an IPTV communication service provider; sending the application message to an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) gateway (IG) functional entity apparatus; and receiving a response message comprising a result of processing the application message as a response to the sending of the application message, from the IG functional entity apparatus.

Abstract: A device and method for are provided requesting and providing content information over a network, in which content information stored in network devices on the network can be rapidly provided by transmitting a search request packet, in which predetermined search conditions are set, to the network devices in a multicast manner. The device includes a search request unit which generates a search request packet to request an information search for content from devices existing on the network; a transmitting unit which transmits the constructed search request packet to the devices existing on the network in a multicast manner; and a result collection unit which collects and manages content information received from the devices that received the search request packet.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting and receiving data using multicasting are provided. The system and method enables Internet Protocol (IP) communication between a server and a client that do not know IP information about the other party. The system includes an information management unit storing information about a client and a group the client belongs to, a packet generation unit generating a packet to be transmitted to the client, a packet transceiver transmitting the packet to and receiving a packet from the client through a multicast socket, and a data transmitter transmitting data to the client using the information about the client contained in the packet received from the client.

The method includes creating an improved Huffman table including an increment of a Huffman code length and the number of times Huffman code lengths repeats; generating a new bit string by extracting bits by the increment of the Huffman code length and adding the extracted bits to the end of a previous bit string; and reading values of corresponding codes by the number of times Huffman code length repeats from the improved Huffman table and determining whether values identical to a value of the new bit string are present. According to the present invention, unnecessary consumption of system resources can be reduced by decreasing the number of times search and comparison routines of Huffman codes are used.

Abstract: An electronic appliance capable of preventing errors in speech recognition and improving the speech recognition rate. The appliance has a speaker for outputting an audio signal, a sound receiver for receiving external sound, a detector for detecting watermark information inserted into the sound received by the sound receiver, a sound remover for removing the audio signal including the watermark information detected by the detector, a speech recognizer for identifying the sound and giving a command corresponding to the recognized sound, and a control unit for receiving the command and controlling the operation corresponding to the received command. The improper operation of an electronic appliance can be prevented, during sound recognition, as the sound output from the speaker is removed and only the user's speech is recognized.
