    Abstract: Provided is a method of controlling a digital photographing device, the method including: removing high-frequency components from a first input image and a second input image; calculating a differential image between the first input image and the second input image from which the high-frequency components are removed; calculating the frequency of each of the pixel values of the differential image; determining at lease one pixel value of the differential image having a frequency greater than a frequency threshold as a target motion range among the pixel values of the differential image greater than a motion threshold; and determining photographing settings corresponding to the target motion range.

    Abstract: A digital image processing apparatus and tracking method are provided to rapidly and accurately track a subject location in video images. The apparatus searches for a target image that is most similar to a reference image, in a current frame image in which each pixel has luminance, and other, data, the reference image being smaller than the current frame image, and includes a similarity calculator for calculating a degree of similarity between the reference image and each of a plurality of matching images that have the same size as the reference image and are portions of the current frame image; and a target image determination unit for determining one of the plurality of matching images as the target image using the degree of similarity obtained by the similarity calculator. The similarity calculator calculates the degree of similarity by applying greater weight to the other data than to the luminance data.

Therefore, the image interpolating method and apparatus provide a large Peak Signal and Noise Ratio (PSNR), a Structural Similarity (SSIM), and high visual quality images.

An embodiment includes an imaging device that acquires a reference image and additional images at different exposures and a multi-level threshold map generation unit that classifies the pixels of the images into levels according to brightness. The embodiment further includes a motion data acquiring unit that acquires motion data for each pixel based on its respective brightness level and a first weight data acquiring unit that acquires first weight data based on the motion data of each pixel. In addition, the embodiment includes a final image data acquiring unit that synthesizes the pixels of the reference image and the additional images based on first weight data.

    Abstract: An image processing method and apparatus may effectively reduce noise in an image which represents an object photographed by a photographing apparatus. The method may include extracting a first low-frequency component and a first high-frequency component from first image data, and applying a noise reduction filter to the first low-frequency component and to the first high-frequency component to obtain a second low-frequency component and a second high-frequency component, respectively. The method may also include obtaining edge data from the second low-frequency component, and amplifying a portion of the second high-frequency component that corresponds to the edge data to obtain a third high-frequency component. The method may further include combining the second low-frequency component with the third high-frequency component to obtain second image data, and controlling the second image data representing the photographed object to be output to at least one of a storage medium and a display unit.
