  • Publication number: 20230140818
Abstract: Described are methods for treating cancers overexpressing hyperpolarization activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel (HCN) isoforms HCN1, HCN2, HCN3, and/or HCN4. The cancers are treated by administering to a subject in need of treatment an effective amount of an HCN inhibitor. The HCN inhibitor can be an inhibitor of HCN1, HCN2, HCN3, or HCN4, or an inhibitor that inhibits any combination of HCN1, HCN2, HCN3, and HCN4. The described methods are useful for reducing tumor size, putting cancer in remission, and reducing or stopping proliferation of cancer stem cells.

  • Publication number: 20090157848
Abstract: An application server is disclosed for communicating with a plurality of clients. The application server executes code segments stored on a computer readable storage medium, such as on a disk storage medium, FLASH memory, etc. The application server initiates a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) object for processing a request received from one of the clients, wherein the request comprises input data. The application server invokes an asynchronous function with the TCP/IP object as an input parameter to process the request, and when the asynchronous function is finished processing the request, returns output data to the client.

  • Publication number: 20080059571
Abstract: A system for displaying intermediate message content over the unused area of a web browser is described. An intermediate message display process is linked to the web browser program executed on a client computer. The process monitors user activity on the client computer and identifies areas of the web browser display area that are not used. Upon detection of an unused clear space within the web browser display area, an intermediate message is displayed in the clear area of the web browser. The intermediate message could be an advertisement display provided by a third party content provider. A timer process and clear space detection routine within the intermediate message display process govern the display of the intermediate message in accordance with specified background pattern and message window dimension parameters.

  • Publication number: 20080048986
Abstract: A compound portable computing device comprising two or more separate portable devices coupled over a hardwired or wireless link is described. The compound device includes a first portable device and a second portable device that controls the input from the keyboards of both devices for display on a common display. The first portable device contains a portion of a standard QWERTY keyboard or other type of keyboard for text entry, and the second portable computing device contains the remaining portion of the keyboard. A process within the first portable device controls input from both the first and second keyboard portions, and causes the display of characters on a display coupled to one of the portable devices. The process functionally links the keypads of both devices such that when used together, the two keyboard portions form a full QWERTY keyboard or other type of keyboard.

  • Publication number: 20070042807
Abstract: A compound portable computing device comprising two or more separate portable devices coupled over a wireless link is described. A first portable computing device contains a keypad with keys dedicated to use with a function of the devices. A circuit of the first portable computing device reconfigures the first keypad to operate as a first portion of a standard QWERTY keyboard or other type of keyboard for text entry. A second keyboard portion comprising keys permanently configured to provide complementary keys to the first keyboard portion is separably linked to the first portable computing device, so that the first and second keyboard portions function as a full QWERTY keyboard.

  • Publication number: 20050208983
Abstract: A compound portable computing device comprising two or more separate portable devices coupled over a wireless link is described. A first portable computing device contains a first portion of a full-size keyboard, such as a standard QWERTY keyboard or foreign language keyboard. A second portable computing device contains a second portion of the full-size keyboard, and the first portion and the second portion together comprise the keys of the full-size keyboard. A network link is established that couples the first portable computing device to the second portable computing device. A partial keyboard map is loaded into memory of the first and second devices. The partial keyboard map loaded into the memory of the first device corresponds to the portion of the keyboard contained in the first device, and the partial keyboard map loaded into the memory of the second device corresponds to the portion of the keyboard contained in the second device.
