The method and system are capable of alerting when a mobile terminal having an RFID tag passes the entrance at which an RFID reader is installed, whereby the owner is therefore aware of the mobile terminal. In the passage alert method of the present invention, when the first communication terminal passes an entrance at which the second communication terminal is installed, one of the first and second communication terminals resets the passage mode of the first communication terminal with an output of an alert message corresponding to the changed passage mode such that the owner may be aware of the first communication terminal, thereby reducing the possibility of losing the first mobile communication terminal.
