  • Patent number: 8754155
Abstract: A solid composition for releasing active silicone ingredients contains a cationic polymer, an active silicone ingredient and optionally a thickener and a carrier. The cationic polymer is preferably a homopolymer or a copolymer. The cationic polymer has higher water solubility at neutral pH than at a basic pH of 9-11. Granular encapsulated compositions can be prepared by using the solid silicone-releasing composition as a component in a laundry detergent powder, tablet or bar. This is particularly of interest for the delivery of silicone ingredients in the rinse cycle of a laundry operation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 1, 2006
Date of Patent: June 17, 2014
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Rahma Benbakoura, Serge Creutz, Sophie Stassen
  • Patent number: 8597624
Abstract: This invention relates to aqueous emulsions comprising a polyorganosiloxane and a wax, and to methods of production of such emulsions. The emulsions are of the type oil-in-water. An organopolysiloxane is polymerized in admixture with a molten wax, thereby forming a blend of the wax with an organopolysiloxane of increased molecular weight, and the said blend of polymer and molten wax is emulsified in water in the presence of a surfactant. The emulsions are useful in personal care applications such as on hair, skin, mucous membrane or teeth. The emulsions are also useful in applications such as paints, water based coatings, textile fiber treatment, leather lubrication, fabric softening, fabric care in laundry applications, homecare, release agents and oil drag reduction.

  • Publication number: 20040116316
Abstract: In an agglomeration process for the preparation of granules encapsulating a hydrophobic active material, the active material and a molten binder which has a melting point above ambient temperature are sprayed onto water soluble carrier particles while agitating the particles. A liquid which interacts exothermically with the carrier particles is sprayed onto the carrier particles separately from and just before or simultaneously with the active material and binder, so that the heat generated by the interaction reduces the cooling rate of the binder during the agglomeration process. For example the liquid can be water when the carrier particles have a positive heat of hydration and/or solution by water.

  • Patent number: 6521586
Abstract: A foam control agent comprises (A) an organopolysiloxane material having at least one silicon-bonded substituent of the formula X—Ph, wherein X denotes a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group and Ph denotes an optionally substituted aromatic group, (B) an organosilicon resin and (C) a hydrophobic filler. The organosilicon resin (B) preferably consists of siloxane units of the formula R′aSiO4−a/2 wherein R′ denotes a hydroxyl, hydrocarbon or hydrocarbonoxy group, particularly trialkylsiloxy units and SiO4/2 units, wherein a has a value of from 0.5 to 2.4. The foam control agent may be provided as an emulsion or as a particulate material. It is especially useful as a detergent foam control agent.
