  • Patent number: 5065710
Abstract: A rope starter working in such a way that a rope wheel (12) with a driver (25) rotates a fly-wheel by way of starting latches, and the fly-wheel being provided with support lugs as carriers (13,14) of the latches. When the engine starts the latches are swung out by the centrifugal force from the driver on the rope wheel. The support lugs are carriers of one of the latches as well as a stop for the other one.

  • Patent number: 4896425
Abstract: The motor saw has a rear handle connected to the body by vibration-damping elements with rubber or steel springs, and the throttle of the carburetor and the throttle control are connected by a rigid wire link. The throttle control bearing includes a shaft mounted in oblong holes to give a longitudinal play so that when the handle is moved with respect to the body, the throttle control can move the corresponding distance in the bearing without influencing the setting of the throttle in the carburetor in its idle position. When the handle is moved in this position, and a throttle opening is desired by moving the throttle control, a sliding part at the rear end of the throttle will contact a curved partition in the handle and push the throttle control to an advanced position, after which an opening of the throttle takes place by further movement of the throttle control.

  • Patent number: 4841920
Abstract: A motor saw wherein combustion air is drawn via a port tangentially located at the fan wheel in the fan housing of the motor saw. The combustion air is taken from an air stream in circulation from an air inlet at the top surface of the motor saw body where the concentration of pollutants is low. Pollutants are separated by the centrifugal effect of the fan before the air gets into the port. The cooling capacity of the air stream is completed with further cooling air from a second inlet. The combustion air can be pre-heated in a heating loop.

  • Patent number: 4765062
Abstract: An arrangement for decreasing the strain on a rivet joint of the top wheel in a motor saw. Lateral forces in consequence of unvoluntary jamming or twisting of the saw chain by its surrounding of the top of the sword cannot be totally avoided, which often gets the rivet joint (17) of the top wheel loose. In order to avoid such a thing it is suggested to provide a releasing slot (19) which separates the chain guiding portion of the outer sheets (10,11) of the saw sword from the riveted portion forming the inner roll bearing surface of the top wheel, which slot is extending through at least 180.degree. thereof.

  • Patent number: 4716860
Abstract: The air inlet of the cooling fan is positioned substantially on top of a motor saw body so that the air is drawn from a region above the saw where the concentration of pollutants is considerably lower than at the usually known inlet through the fan cover. The air inlet is positioned at a distance from the fan cover to provide a connecting channel between the inlet and the fan wheel, in which channel a shunt damper is arranged. The shunt channel enables a balanced mixture of cold outdoor air and warm recirculating inner air so that a proper engine temperature can be effected.
