  • Patent number: 5255405
Abstract: A tool holding apparatus for use with extension poles has a substantially hollow longitudinal handle for mounting on an end of an extension pole. A tubular support member is rotatably engaged with the upper end of the handle and is rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the handle. The tubular support member has tool-engaging means on at least one end for supporting a tool. Means for rotating the tubular support member relative to the handle are provided. The device also includes stop means disposed on the outer wall of the handle for limiting the rotation of the tubular support member beyond a predetermined point.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 30, 1991
Date of Patent: October 26, 1993

  • Patent number: 5175902
Abstract: A squeegee device including a mount carried pivotally from a handle for mounting a squeegee blade in a normal position for sweeping the majority of the distance across a window pane recessed in a window opening defined by abutment walls of, for instance, a high rise building. The mount is biased to the normal position by a bias spring and a kicker arm is carried on such mount. The kicker arm is constructed to, when the apparatus approaches completion of the stroke, engage the abutment wall forming the window opening to orbit the mount and consequently such blade through an arc relative to the handle thereby accelerating movement of such wiper blade to complete the wiping stroke.

  • Patent number: 4705251
Abstract: A tripod for supporting a window washer's bucket or the like. The support incorporates three legs pivotally connected under a cage for receiving the bucket and pivotable between retracted co-extensive positions and spread positions angling downwardly and outwardly. The positioning of the legs is controlled by an actuator telescoped upwardly into the open bottom end of a vertical actuator tube mounted under the cage. The actuator is normally positioned in an extended position projecting downwardly beyond the bottom ends of the legs when they are in their collapsed position. Rigid coupling links are pivotally connected between the actuator an support legs such that retraction of the retractor upwardly into the tube raises the proximate ends of the links upwardly driving the lower end of the support legs radially outwardly to their support positions.

  • Patent number: 4611363
Abstract: A channel-shaped holder having parallel side walls which cooperate to form a cavity therebetween for receiving a cleaning blade. One edge of the cleaning blade is mounted in an elongated channel-shaped cap which includes an elongated slider protruding from one side thereof. The slider is inserted into a selected one of a number of longitudinally-elongated, parallel, laterally spaced apart grooves formed on the interior of the holder to selectively adjust the distance the free edge of such blade projects from the holder.

  • Patent number: 4604802
Abstract: The squeegee blade trimmer of the present invention includes a pair of back to back C-channels having mounted along one side thereof a pair of shear bars, along with a pair of parallel extending tracks. The C-channels are hinged together on their opposite side and a press clamp mechanism is provided for selectively drawing the channels together. A blade holder is provided with a pair of runners for running along the tracks such that a worn, flexible squeegee blade may be placed between the shear bars and the blade holder run along the tracks causing a laterally extending blade edge to sever a worn edge of the squeegee blade from the body of the squeegee thus leaving a fresh, clean straight edge.

  • Patent number: 4468833
Abstract: A tool holder adapted for use with slat-like material, such as louver window panels, venetian blinds, and vertical drapes, is devised to simultaneously bring a pair of tool elements to bear against the opposing surfaces of the slat-like material. Thus, the slat-like material can be easily and quickly cleaned with a single smooth motion of the tool. The tool includes first and second handle segments which are rotatably coupled together at one end. The lower handle segment includes an integrally formed tool holding portion. The opposing upper handle segment is rotatably coupled to an adjustable tool holding element which opposes the tool holding portion of the lower handle segment. The angular orientation of the adjustable tool holding element is selectively fixed with respect to the upper handle segment so that it and the opposing tool holding portion can be aligned in a substantially parallel configuration notwithstanding the variable distance of separation therebetween.
