  • Patent number: 10749632
Abstract: An apparatus for smart integrated cyclic data transport is provided. The apparatus may preserve the consistency and integrity of a file during the transfer of the file from a source system to a target system. The apparatus includes an orchestration subsystem. The orchestration subsystem includes an analyzer/generator module. The analyzer/generator module executes an algorithm on the file at the source location. An output is generated from the executed algorithm. The apparatus includes a consistency module. The consistency module pre-checks the output at the source location for pretransfer validation and creates a copy of the output. The copy may preserve the consistency and the integrity of the file. The apparatus includes a data transfer subsystem which transfers the file and the output from the source system to the target system. The apparatus may also include a validation subsystem for validating the integrity and consistency of the file.

  • Patent number: 10264269
Abstract: In a coding system, an encoder codes video data according to a predetermined protocol, which, when decoded causes an associated decoder to perform a predetermined sequence of decoding operations. The encoder may perform local decodes of the coded video data, both in the manner dictated by the coding protocol that is at work and also by one or more alternative decoding operations. The encoder may estimate relative performance of the alternative decoding operations as compared to a decoding operation that is mandated by the coding protocol. The encoder may provide identifiers in metadata that is associated with the coded video data to identify such levels of distortion and/or levels of resources conserved. A decoder may refer to such identifiers when determining when to engage alternative decoding operations as may be warranted under resource conservation policies.

  • Patent number: 10263955
Abstract: A multi-tier platform provides security at a perimeter of a computer system, where an intermediate layer interacts between a web layer and an application layer. A data request that is associated with a data set is received at the web layer and passed to the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer determines the authoritative source for the data set and whether the data set has a static or dynamic value. If the value is static, the intermediate layer accesses the value stored at the intermediate layer. However, if the value is dynamic, the intermediate layer queries the source registered to the data set, obtains the value from the authoritative source, and returns the dynamic value via the web layer, where the registered source may be internal or external to the computer system. Consequently, the intermediate layer may function as an aggregate layer that supports both database and messaging services.

  • Patent number: 9361436
Abstract: A system and method includes a service provider registering a plurality of profile IDs with a central authority and providing the profile IDs to an institution where the profile IDs are utilized by the institution for authentication of individual users, authorized to act on behalf of the institution. Each profile ID corresponds to an authentication template for the respective user, and the authentication templates are stored by the central authority. A first user transmits an electronic communication, first authentication information, and an indication of a first profile ID, which is received by the service provider. The service provider then receives the first authentication template from the central authority, which may be requested. The first authentication information is then matched to the first authentication template, and additional actions can be taken with respect to the communication after successful matching.

  • Publication number: 20060117316
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a multithreaded microcontroller includes a thread control unit comprising thread control hardware (logic) configured to perform a number of multithreading system calls essentially in real time, e.g. in one or a few clock cycles. System calls can include mutex lock, wait condition, and signal instructions. The thread controller includes a number of thread state, mutex, and condition variable registers used for executing the multithreading system calls. Threads can transition between several states including free, run, ready and wait. The wait state includes interrupt, condition, mutex, I-cache, and memory substates. A thread state transition controller controls thread states, while a thread instructions execution unit executes multithreading system calls and manages thread priorities to avoid priority inversion. A thread scheduler schedules threads according to their priorities.

  • Patent number: 5646693
Abstract: A system and method for decoding a video bitstream and displaying the video with 3:2 pull-down using a frame buffer whose size is not sufficient to hold an entire decoded frame. This is accomplished by using the additional time required by the display with 3:2 pull-down to decode a portion of the frame for a second time. The present invention provides memory savings, additional flexibility in decoder design, and reductions in memory controller complexity and power consumption. In the case of MPEG-2 decoders, the present invention allows the implementation of PAL/SECAM main profile at main level decoders with 3:2 pull-down using only a 16 megabit memory.
