  • Publication number: 20050170728
Abstract: The method generally comprises the steps of providing a hydroentangled non-woven layer having a first binder component, and depositing a second non-woven layer having a high bulk and loft on to the hydroentangled layer to form an unbonded composite fabric. The second layer also has a binder component with a melting temperature substantially equal to the first binder melting temperature.

  • Patent number: 5827255
Abstract: In a sanitary napkin, the retention layer of the absorbent core is covered by first tissue sheet of a density between 0.01 g/cm.sup.3 and 0.1 g/cm.sup.3 and by a second tissue sheet of a density between 0.08 and 0.3 g/cm.sup.3, the difference in density between the tissue sheets being between 0.01 g/cm.sup.3 and 0.2 g/cm.sup.3. The density gradient on top of the retention layer results in a relatively high efficiency of the retention layer and in efficient draining of the topmost tissue sheet, so that chances of rewet are reduced.

  • Patent number: H1639
Abstract: A catamenial device comprises a fluid permeable, body facing, topsheet (25), a liquid impermeable barrier layer and an absorbent body (34) disposed between the topsheet (25) and the barrier layer, the absorbent body (34) incorporating a water insoluble particular hydrogel material at a loading of at least 40 g/m.sup.2 of the plan area of the absorbent body, the water insoluble particulate hydrogel material having a gel strength of at least 0.38 kPa after 5 minutes exposure to synthetic urine solution in the modified AGE P test, a device incorporating insoluble particulate hydrogel material absorbing at least 40 g sheep's blood in the Total Capacity Storage Test.
