Publication number: 20240129029Abstract: A method performed by a first network node serving a first terminal when handling a call between the first terminal and a second terminal is provided. The first network node determines that the call is associated with longer than expected delays between the first and second terminals. The network node provides a Long Delay Indication to at least one of said first and second terminals to indicate said longer than expected delays in the call.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2021Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Ralf Keller, Afshin Abtin, Sorin Surdila, Bo Burman

Publication number: 20230275936Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) support for non-International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) based Subscription Permanent Identifier (SUPI). In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication device for IMS registration comprises deriving IMS registration information based on a non-IMSI based SUPI of the wireless communication device and sending an IMS registration request to an IMS node, the IMS registration request comprising the IMS registration information. In this manner, the non-IMSI SUPI can be reused for IMS access, e.g., when the network administrator does not plan to use an IP Multimedia Services Identity Module (ISIM), IMS Credential (IMC), or any future IMS-specific identity module in the deployed wireless communication devices. This simplifies the deployment by eliminating the need to manage and provision the IMS identity modules for a large number of wireless communication devices in use.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2021Publication date: August 31, 2023Inventors: George Foti, Sorin Surdila

Publication number: 20200187000Abstract: This specification presents methods and apparatus in a device and a network node implementing a Bootstrapping Server Function, BSF, for enabling multiple service functions/clients in the device sharing a common public identity and each performing its own registration to one or more (IMS) core network, to use a common bootstrapping of application security based on the Generic Bootstrapping Architecture, GBA/Generic Authentication Architecture, GAA, infrastructure. Therefore, when using Extensible Markup Language, XML, Configuration Access Protocol, XCAP, or the likes, the multiple service functions in the device use the same authentication method for all XCAP traffic or the likes, such as GBA/GAA but enabling it to use the same key sets (e.g., same B-TID).Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2019Publication date: June 11, 2020Inventors: Cristina BADULESCU, Sorin SURDILA, Ralf KELLER

Patent number: 9832234Abstract: Network nodes for an access network and a home network of a first UE are described for use when routing an originating call from the first UE in the access network including an IMS network. A network node receives a SIP INVITE message associated with the originating call from the first UE, and including a called party number associated with the call. The network node determines whether the first UE is visiting the access network and whether the called party number is associated with the access network. The network node determines whether the called party number is allowable in the access network. The network node modifies and transmits the received SIP INVITE message towards a home network of the first UE to cause the home network to route the originating call to the access network.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2012Date of Patent: November 28, 2017Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Afshin Abtin, David Castellanos Zamora, Gert Öster, Sorin Surdila

Publication number: 20150156221Abstract: Network nodes for an access network and a home network of a first UE are described for use when routing an originating call from the first UE in the access network including an IMS network. A network node receives a SIP INVITE message associated with the originating call from the first UE, and including a called party number associated with the call. It determines whether the first UE is visiting the access network and whether the called party number is associated with the access network. A query to a database is performed, the database comprising a plurality of called party numbers, as to whether the called party number is allowable for use in the access network when the UE is visiting and when the called party number is associated with the access network. Instructing the home network to route the originating call to the access network when a response from the query indicates the called party number is allowable for use in the access network.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2012Publication date: June 4, 2015Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (PUBL)Inventors: Afshin Abtin, David Castellanos Zamora, Gert Öster, Sorin Surdila

Patent number: 7916850Abstract: A method of controlling subscriber access to SIP-based services facilitated by an IP Multimedia Subsystem. The method comprises defining at a Serving Call Session Control Function node at least one default screening trigger, and downloading from a Home Subscriber Subsystem, specific screening triggers allocated to at least certain subscribers. At the Serving Call Session Control Function node, at least certain SIP messages originating at subscriber terminals are intercepted and, for each intercepted message and in the absence of a matching specific screening trigger, the default trigger is activated so as to cause the SIP message to be forwarded to a specific SIP application service.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2004Date of Patent: March 29, 2011Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Nancy Greene, Sorin Surdila, Christophe Gourraud, Peter Postmus

Patent number: 7546376Abstract: Using session signaling, a multimedia session with plural media data streams is initiated between the mobile terminal and a remote host coupled to a packet data network. The mobile terminal is coupled to the packet data network and to a multimedia system that provides multimedia session services by way of an access point. A plurality of packet access bearers is established between the mobile terminal and the access point to transport corresponding ones of the media data streams between the mobile terminal and the access points. The media binding information is created for each media data stream. The media binding information associates each media data stream in the session to one of the media packet access bearers and is used to provide session-based control of each of the media packet access bearers. Different example techniques for generating/providing the media information are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2001Date of Patent: June 9, 2009Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Ina B. Widegren, Johnson Oyama, Brian C. Williams, George Foti, Sorin Surdila

Publication number: 20080084867Abstract: A method and a server are provided for transferring a multimedia session from a first terminal to a second terminal. The session having been set up, with the help of an application server, between the first terminal and a service network comprising a content server, a user of the first terminal enters a command to pause the session. A session identity is stored in the application server. The user then turns to the second terminal, which obtains the session identity from the application server. The second terminal can then send a request to the content server to resume the session, the session identity being used to specify to the content server which session is to be resumed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2006Publication date: April 10, 2008Inventors: George Foti, Sorin Surdila
