Patent number: 10076011Abstract: A method of adjusting a correlated color temperature (CCT) of a light provided by a lighting fixture includes receiving, by a DALI command converter device, a DALI dim level command indicating a dim level for the light provided by the lighting fixture. The method further includes providing a first output signal to adjust a dim level of a first light emitted by a first light emitting diode (LED) light source to a first dim level. The method also includes providing a second output signal to adjust a dim level of a second light emitted by a second LED light source to a second dim level that is different from the first dim level. The light provided by the lighting fixture is a combination of the first light and the second light. The DALI command converter device generates the first output signal and the second output signal based on the DALI dim level command.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2017Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: Cooper Technologies CompanyInventors: Soroush Amidi, Kyle Joseph Van Bavel

Patent number: 8755814Abstract: A system, apparatus and method are provided for intermittent location reporting. The apparatus includes a global positioning system (GPS) receiver, a transceiver, and a controller. The transceiver is a WiFi or WiMAX transceiver. The controller reads a current geographical location of the apparatus and determines whether communication with a location monitoring application (LMA) is possible. If communication with the LMA is not possible, the controller stores the current geographical location. When communication with the LMA is again possible, the controller sends any stored geographical locations. The controller may store timestamps associated with the geographical locations. The controller may send the geographical locations to the LMA at intervals determined by predefined rules.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2008Date of Patent: June 17, 2014Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventor: Soroush Amidi

Patent number: 8633853Abstract: A system, apparatus and method are provided for location detection using GPS or WiFi/WiMAX. The apparatus includes a global positioning system (GPS) receiver, a transceiver, and a controller. The transceiver is a WiFi or WiMAX transceiver. The controller determines whether GPS location sensing is possible and, if so, receives geographical location data from the GPS receiver. If GPS location sensing is not possible, the controller determines whether location sensing via the transceiver is possible and, if so, receives geographical location data from the transceiver. The controller sends a signal based on the location data to a location monitoring application via the transceiver. The controller may send a signal to the location monitoring application that no location sensing is possible.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2008Date of Patent: January 21, 2014Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventor: Soroush Amidi

Patent number: 8396280Abstract: A portable asset inspection device can be used during the inspection of one or more assets, such as assets in a processing or other environment. A camera in the portable asset inspection device can be used to take digital photographs of assets being inspected. A sound recorder in the portable asset inspection device can be used to record oral notes of a user or other sounds associated with the inspection of the assets. Other data could be collected from the user using the portable asset inspection device. The collected data can be transmitted in either real-time or non-real-time to an external system. The external system could associate photographs, sound recordings, and other data with specific assets, such as by automatically storing the data in records associated with the correct assets. The external system could also use the data in any suitable manner, such as to schedule asset maintenance.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2006Date of Patent: March 12, 2013Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventor: Soroush Amidi

Patent number: 8265651Abstract: An apparatus, system and method are provided for integrated wireless location detection. The system includes a location detection (LD) transmitter that transmits first and second radio frequency signals in first and second formats, respectively. First and second LD receivers, respectively, receive the first and second signals and determine first and second information relating to a location of the LD transmitter. An LD server wirelessly receives the first and second information and calculates the location of the LD transmitter from one of the first and second information. The LD server may receive a signal indicating a preferred one of the first and second information and calculate the location from the preferred one of the first and second information.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2007Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventor: Soroush Amidi
